Chapter Six

"Well, Special Agent Clark, have you prepared a profile for us to follow?" I ask stopping Rachel. Today may finally be the day I arrest Kenny. I have been patiently waiting for almost a week and a half to take him into custody, but of course, we never had enough evidence against. I was careful to bring up Kenny only if someone initiated it. I couldn't be known as the dude he attacked and is now seeking revenge by pinning the case on him.

"As a matter of fact, I have detective. I know it took longer than expected but I wanted to make sure I thoroughly analyzed every detail presented to me before I drew up this profile." she replied. I nod.

"It's completely understandable. I am just glad that it's ready today. The quicker you tell us your profile, the quicker we can get this guy off the street. Also, if you'd like, I could assist you in the presentation. These people can be a bit rough." She smirked slightly and shook her head no.

"I can handle it, Liam. Don't worry about me," she replied with much certainty in her voice. I watched as she strolled to the front of the room and dropping her thick folder onto the desk, causing it to make a loud smacking noise. A few momentarily looked up then returned back to their work.

"Hey! Detectives, eyes front and center. Now," she commanded. All talking ceased and they focused their attention solely on her. I smirked, I guess she can handle these clowns. Any other person would have been intimidated by the large boisterous group of detectives, but not her. She tackled the task head on instead of cowering away. I find that very intriguing. I have never encountered a woman with so much confidence and certainty. Well, besides Caroline of course. Anyways, oddly enough It's refreshing. Having to deal with insecure bimbos all the time can be arduous. It's quite... refreshing, if dare say.

"Okay now that I have your undivided attention, let's begin. I have prepared a preliminary psychological  profile of our killer. With the information you are about to receive from me, you should be able to eliminate any suspects who don't meet the necessary criteria." She paused and flipped open her manila folder. "Based upon my research, our killer must have had a rough upbringing. Serial killer's often suffered emotional, physical or sexual abuse. They are almost always Caucasian males. We could expect he age of the Messenger to most likely be between twenty and forty years old." Okay so far so good, except for the abuse part. Except for the occasional slap or a half empty beer bottled being thrown at me, but I wouldn't consider that abuse, I thought.

"That makes sense. Our killer would need to be old enough to have refine his technique, but you enough to be physically intimidating to his victims," I said, receiving murmurs of agreement from my fellow co-workers. Rachel smiled and nodded.

"Correct. Next, I would expect our killer to be an introvert." Right again, looks like Rachel does her homework. I don't enjoy friends, or people in general. In grade school I would always sit and read different varieties of books than associate with my peers. I never really cared for attention from others. Their opinions never mattered to me, so why waste my time entertaining them with my presence.

Nodding I add, "Someone this precise and compulsive has got to be an introvert. There is no way he could be socially active and still posses the time to thoroughly plan all of this. I can't imagine our killer having a beer at a local bar with his buds, discussing sports."

"Exactly, Liam. Finally, we can expect the Messenger to be highly intelligent." I have always above average, ahead of my peers, so it's safe to say that that statement is also true.

"Yes, that is what I have been thinking. If this were an average creep looking for a new thrill, he would've slipped up already."

"An average creep isn't as structured as this," Phillips added. He sat in the back quiet for most of this presentation, from what I can tell, evaluating her performance. Which I would say isn't to shabby. For her to not know anyone in here besides Phillips and I yet she still retains the abillity to make it seem like she has been with us for ages.
