Hinata took a deep breath and opened to door to the studio. Gentle music played as dancers warmed up in little groups. Closing the door behind him, Hinata hurried to an empty space in the room and started stretching.
This was it. He was finally here. After years of hoping and training, he had made it to his dream school. Buzzing with anxiety and excitement, Hinata gently jumped on the spot, warming up his body.
"Alright," A dark haired boy got their attention and switched off the music. "Listen up. My name is Daichi, Captain of the Karasuno Dance Team. First years, please line up against the far wall before the third and second years introduce themselves." He pointed to the wall behind Hinata. There was a scuffle of movement as other people started towards the direction. But, Hinata sprinted to the wall, unable to control his nerves, gaining weird glances from a few people in the room.
"Okay, Suga, you start." Daichi smiled after they were all in position.
"Hey everyone, I'm Sugawara. I'm a third year and I specialize in ballet, as well as Daichi." Suga told us, a friendly smile on his face. He was an odd looking boy, with grey hair and a beauty mark just under his left eye, but very good looking none the less."H-hi. I'm Asahi. I'm a third year, too. Oh, and I specialize in Jazz." An extremely mature boy told us. Hinata felt a little intimidated by him, seeing as Asahi already had a small goatee.
"Hello. I'm Kiyoko. I'm a third year and I specialize in lyrical." A beautiful girl introduced herself. She looked elegant and kind, but could definitely pack a punch if she needed to.
Daichi sighed. "Seeing as only one of our second years has turn-" the door burst open, scaring the first years, including Hinata, half to death.
"We're sorry, Daichi-san!"
"We didn't mean to sleep in!"
"It's the first day of school!"
"WE'RE SO SORRY!"
Two boys were kneeling on the floor in front of Daichi, begging for forgiveness. He looked stern, but the rest of the people in the room were hiding giggles."Get up." He told them. Slowly, the got off the ground, raising their heads last. One had shaved hair and dark skin, the other was very short, but made up for it with his extremely long, spiked up, black hair. A small, bleached lock of hair fell onto his forehead, contrasting to the rest of style. In appearance, they were very opposite, but you could tell they were close friends from the similar buzz that radiated off them.
"Don't let it happen again." Daichi's voice was stern, his eyes like brown whirlpools.
"Yes, Captain!" They said in unison. Daichi smiled brightly. "Okay then, you can introduce yourselves to the first years after that dramatic entrance." The two boys whirled around to look at the small group, only just realizing they were there. The short boy spoke first, "Hey! I'm Nishinoya! I'm a second year and I specialize in tap!" He finished with a few foot moves and jazz hands.
All attention turned to the taller boy, who was making a contorted (and oddly intimidating) face.
"Tanaka, stop trying to scare the first years. You look ridiculous." Suga told him with a disapproving stare. 'Tanaka' stopped, begrudgingly.
"As you heard, I'm Tanaka," he said, pointing a thumb at his chest."But, feel free to call me Sempai. Of course, I'm a second year and I specialize is break dance." He stuck his hands in his shorts, looking like a delinquent.Another boy walked forward and stood next to Nishinoya and Tanaka.
"Hi, I'm Ennoshita. I'm a second year and specialize in ballet, too." He said, speaking quickly, black hair framing his face."Now we're done, it's time for you. Go down the line, say your name and what you specialize in." Daichi told them. Hinata looked side to side, starting to take in the appearance of the other first years.
Stepping forward, a short girl with blonde hair stated her name. "I'm Yachi and I specialize in Lyrical." She blushed slightly when she saw Kiyoko's smile.
The next was an extremely tall boy, who also had blond hair. Except, instead of looking friendly like Yachi, he looked stern and smart, especially with his glasses. "I'm Tsukishima. Also, I don't specialize in anything." Everyone gave him a sideways look, confused. He smirked, "I'm an all-rounder." Hinata looked around and saw shocked and impressed faces, but he had no idea what it meant.
"What?" He asked. Tsuki looked down at him, brows creased.
"What do you mean, you're an 'all-rounder'?" Hinata wasn't embarrassed, even though several people laughed. A smirk formed on Tsuki's face, but it wasn't him who answered. The boy next to Hinata, at the end of the line, glared down at him and said, "it means he's good at most or all of the main genres of dance, dumb ass." He wasn't as tall as Tsuki, but he was still very threatening. Black, straight hair fell into his hard eyes, which made him look twice as menacing. But, Hinata was shocked to realize that the boy was wearing a small amount of eyeliner. It suited him.Blushing, but still not out of embarrassment, Hinata looked away quickly, trying to get the attention back on the boy next to him. It worked. He was, yet again, shorter than Tsuki, but he seemed to have a great affection for him. A beaming smile had crept onto his face as Tsuki had been talking. When he finally realized it was his turn to speak, he jumped a little, making the single, tall, dark green strand of hair on the top of his head shake. Hinata was so mesmerized by his hair, that he didn't notice the boy had started to stutter out his name.
"I-I'm Yamaguchi," He stammered, "and I specialize in lyrical." Again, Kiyoko smiled, making Yamaguchi turn a deep red. A large splattering of freckles stood out like drops of ink across his nose and cheeks.
Finally, it was Hinata's turn. Smiling, he stepped forward, trying to make himself look as big as possible, which was hard, considering he was barely 160cm tall.
"I'm Hinata. And I specialize in hip hop." He said, hoping for a big reaction. He got the opposite of that. A few smiles and... Laughter? He turned to see Tsukishima trying to hide his giggles.
"What are you laughing at?" Hinata demanded, stepping towards the giant.
"You really are clueless, aren't you, shrimpy?" He sighed, looking down at Hinata with his immense height. Hinata's blood was boiling, and his face turned nearly as orange as his hair. But, just as he was about yo make a retort, Daichi signaled for the last boy to state his name, stopping both Tsuki and Hinata's argument. The scary boy stepped forward with long strides.
"I'm Kageyama and I specialize in hip hop."
Hinata gave the boy a surprised look. Out of all the genres, he wouldn't have expected hip hop. He was also slightly annoyed because he wanted to be the best and only hip-hop specialist in Karasuno. But, he thought, at least I'll have a good partner for duets.
"So it is you..." Tsuki commented, eyeing Kageyama. But, before Tsukishima could start again, Daichi spoke. "Welcome, first years!" It was friendly, but you could tell he was slightly annoyed by the bickering.
"Over the next few weeks, you will be under probation. If you can't keep up with the training, or you don't try hard enough, you won't be able to continue dancing with us. Especially if your behavior in classes isn't up to scratch."
"Shut up, Daichi, you sound like Coach Ukai," Suga informed him playfully. Daichi glared back, but you could tell he was joking from the small smile on his lips.
"This is because our goal is to go to the Dance Nationals. Training will be hard and we will be trying to train with other schools, too. If this isn't for you, please leave now." He continued, looking the lineup and down. Nobody even flinched.
"We have been called the Fallen Power House, the Flightless Crows, but this year, we're going to change that. We're going to fly."-
