Chapter Five: Nightingale

Not soon after were the girls finally ready and we get into the car. All of them were jumping around from excitement and it was so cute. The smiles on their faces made me know I was making a difference in their lives. I especially pay attention to Unique the entire car ride as we all make small talk. Eventually we arrive and we all get out of the car, walking into the building.

When we walk in, there are kids running everywhere. I am so lucky that I'm not reaching the younger demographic as much now because this could've been crazy! I look at Unique who is getting increasingly nervous. I feel like putting my arm around her but I only met her an hour ago and that would be kind of creepy. I decide not upon it and continue walking until we find a seat near the arcade area. Once seated I decide to order our food. "What do you guys want?"

"You can get punch and a cheese for the two girls, I'll have a coke and whatever you want for pizza. Unique, what do you want?"

Unique looks up front a weird trance-zone out state and asks for a water without ice. I nod and ask, "Hey Unique, wanna come with me to order?" She nods and get out of her seat. As we begin to walk I say, "So how are you with all this?"

"I'm okay with it, I guess."

"What do you think about coming to live with me after everything is all sorted out?"

"I don't care, I just want one thing."

"What would that be?" I get kind of nervous about that, I hope it's not anything major. I really want to get to know her and stuff but hopefully it's nothing huge.

"Well, the little girl. She is so special to me, do you think maybe you can adopt her to?"

Shit! I knew this would happen. "I don't know sweetie. I have a fiancee and he's going to eventually want kids to. " Her face drops. I quickly recover by saying, "But I do know someone that I'm rather close with who wants kids. Maybe, because she has an older sister to and we wouldn't want them to be split up, now would we?"

She nods. "But we were split up." My dear god, this chick is so cute but so sad. 

"I know, but I'm gonna fix that. I'm gonna make up for the time we lost." she nods and smiles. "So, tell me a bit about yourself."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know, what makes you, you?"

"Umn, my name is Unique Lovato... I grew up in mostly urban areas until my mom passed." She then stopped and got sad again.

"You miss her, don't you?" She nods her head and I smile a little. "Well wanna know what? She is with you, same how our father is. I know you didn't know him but for the time I knew him he was a great man and I'm sure he is looking over us right now to. " She then gives me a hug, she might be really small and skinny but she knows how to give a hug. 

"But how do you know?"

"I had a friend that passed when I was 13, and I can feel him in the room sometimes, that's how I know. I actually wrote a song about him a little before dad passed, but that's for another time."

When she let's go she thanks me and I smile. "You don't have to thank me, any decent human being would say something like that. Kindness is a virtue." She nods and my phone starts buzzing. It's my step-father. 

"Hey dad."

"Hey darling, so an amazing opportunity has come your way."

"Okay, tell me."

"Well, Warner Brother Studios want you to be in a move. They had Lea Michelle but she dropped out for some reason and they want you. It's an inspirational type movie and is almost guaranteed an Oscar. It's gonna be huge."
