Just Keep Swimming

Chapter 9

Ring ring ring...

     End of school, I go to my locker with Cameron waiting for me. Then, he opens the locker next to me. He switched lockers? AWESOME! I run over and go in my locker and as he closes his locker, I give him a kiss. He puts his hands in my hair and kisses me back. 

     I put my things in my locker after pulling away. No homework today. We also have a week off of school. I close my locker and I see Katie running over. She links into my arm and start blabbing on about what her plans are for today.

     I look back and I see Cameron, he makes a pouty face. I release the link and run back to Cameron, I kiss him good bye, and whisper that it will be his turn with me later. He hugs me tight and blows kisses as I walk away.

     Katie and I go shopping and go get food. Later, we go to one shop and travel all the way up to the roof. We look up and watch the white, puffy clouds swift by. She looks at me and stares with a smile.

     "What," I say, raising one eyebrow.

     "Nothing, just looking at my best friend," she replies.

     "Oh," I say smiling," is there a reason why?"

     "Yeah," she says," I was thinking about how lucky me, Cam, and all the others guys are to have you around."

     I shake my head smiling and giggle," no you guys were fine before I was here... Were you?"

     "Nope," she says and frowns," I was alone and I rode the bus and Brandon would always throw things at me, and Jackson was shy around me."

     "Brandon's a jerk face," I say laughing," he got a black eye, and Jackson is shy around almost everyone. It doesn't help that he likes you," I gasp and slap my hands in front of my mouth," I've said to much!"

     She giggles," Really, he likes me?," I nod and she squeals," Omg! Your not lying! He wasn't lying! I'm in love with him!," then she slaps her hands onto her mouth.

     I laugh and hug her," You know what? I could get him to ask you out you know."

     She releases from the hug and a smile beams across her face," REALLY! YOU WOULD DO THAT FOR ME!?"

     "Of course!," I say," you're my best friend, I'd do anything for you."

     "Even jump off a bridge?"

     "Yes even jump off a... WAIT, WHAT!"

     She laughs," I'm just kidding, I wouldn't ask you to do that," she hugs me tightly," thank you so much."

     "You're welcome," I whisper I release the hug, link arms with her, and head for the elevator," I think we should start heading home.

     "Wait did you say you went on the bus with Cameron, Jackson, and Brandon?," I ask.

     She replies puzzled," yeah why?"

     "Go on it again, that's my bus!"

     She agrees to go on the bus again and we laugh and talk the whole way home. I text Cameron and tell him Katie left and I'm free now. He shoots over to my house, quickly. I get in the car and leave to have some fun...
