Jess "So what's next?"
Nick "Well, we're definitely going to the mall later. For now, I guess we can just hang out."
Jess "Sounds good. Where's Kevin?"
Nick "That's a good question! He was already up when I checked his room this morning...probably at Starbucks."
Jess *laughs* "Probably."
Nick "So are you ready for our birthday this week?"
Jess "Oh yeah! The big 1-8, huh?!" Remembering, how my age is all messed up now too...
Nick *confused* "Jess, we're turning 17!"
Jess *thinking he's pulling her leg* "Ha! Right! And the year is 2009!"
Nick *just gives her a 'what-the-heck' look*
Jess "Um...which...of course, it is, right?"
Nick "What was your number this morning?"
Jess "Nick, I'm fine. My blood sugar is fine!"
Nick "OK, OK, just checking..."
Jess "Don't you wanna check my forehead though?" *grins*
What? You can't be mad at me for that...who wouldn't want Nick Jonas to check their temperature? Psh.
Nick *squints his eyes* "Why?"
Jess "I-I don't know...I figured Joe checked and...you know, you should probably double check his work..."
Nick "I'm gonna agree with you on that but....yeah you're still weird."
Jess "But in a cute adorable way, right?"
Nick "Naturally." *feels forehead, then moves his hand to pinch Jess' cheek*
Jess *rubs cheek* "Hey!....so umm, 17 huh?
*thinking* so it's 2009?
That's when I realized something I had completely missed!
Jess *thinking* That would explain why Joe's hair is long and wavy/curly. How did I miss that?
Right then my thought process was interrupted by a loud "JESSS!!! You're up!" I saw Kevin moving towards me...
Jess *thinking* There he is! Oh what the heck...
*out loud* "KEVINNNN!!!"
We both hugged and I totally felt like I belonged for a second. Not that they hadn't all made me feel welcome and part of the family but it was just weird and I was mostly confused trying to figure it all out.
Kevin "How are you this wonderful morning, buglet?"
Jess *laughing* "I'm fine...not as chipper as you but....buglet???"
Kevin "Oh, come on. Will you ever get over that? I have always called you that. You used to looove bugs when you were little."
Jess "Riiiight"
*thinking* they even have nicknames and all for me? Man, I sure wish I had memories of all the things we have presumably lived through together...
Kevin "So get this, I got you something..kind of as a Welcome Home gift, I guess!"
Jess "Really???? It's really not necessary though, I mean you guys being my brothers is way more than I could have ever asked for and I..."
Nick *interrupts Jess, in a joking tone* "Jess, Kev already said he got you something! You don't have to kiss up to him even more like that.....you did say 'you guys' though....so what is it you want from me?"
