9. You [Got] My Trust & Now You're Stuck

Big Rob pulled up to our house and we all got out and walked into the house. The first thing I did was plug my phone in so it could charge. I was sooo ready to talk to G again.

Nick "Feel like doing some jamming? We could test out your new guitar."

Jess "In a little, yeah,...I want to...need to talk to dad first!"

Nick "Oh OK,...you alright?"

Jess "Perfect, actually." *kisses Nick on the cheek*

Nick *shrugs shoulders, smiles* "OK, then..."

I went straight to dad's office, which is where he usually is around that time of the day.

Jess *enters office*

Dad *looks up from computer* "Oh hey, baby girl! How are you feeling? How was the mall?"

Jess *smiles* "Much better, just a little tired. Are you busy?" *walking towards where Papa J is sitting, sits down on his lap*

Dad "Glad to hear you're feeling better. *kisses Jess' cheek* and no, not really. Just double checking on some stuff. What's up?"

Jess *giggles* "I like when you say 'what's up?'."

Dad "Didn't you know? I'm a cool dad!"

Jess *laughs* "Sure, sure"

Dad *smiles* "What's on your mind, baby girl?"

Jess *wraps her arms around her dad's neck tightly*

Dad *hugs Jess back just as tightly*

Jess *still hugging her dad, tearing up* "Dad, it was horrible. I had no dad, just a mom."

Dad "In the...dreams you had?"

Jess *nods head, still holding on tight* "She was working hard, but my dad was not a good person, and... *small sob* I'm so glad I have y-y-you...and if you and mom EVER decide t-t-to get divorced, please promise, you won't forget about m-m-me" *cries quietly into her dad's shoulder*

Dad *tears in his eyes* "Hey, hey, hey, look at me! *breaks hug* How could I EVER forget about you? My only daughter. You're my baby girl! *smiles* and you know, relationships and how they work out is all up to the Lord. He always knows what's best for us."

Jess "So you're saying you might get divorced one day?"

Dad *sighs* "I sure hope not. But you never know, what God might have in store for us BUT I am not planning on leaving your mother any time soon. In fact, and I have not told this to anyone, you're the first to know..."

Jess *eyes light up, wipes tears off her face*

Dad "...I am planning on renewing our wedding vows. Just a small ceremony with just your mom, me, and you kids."

Jess "Really? *gets excited, hugs her dad, releases from hug* That is so cool...since we missed your first wedding and all."

Dad *laughs* "But hey, *puts index to mouth* shhhh! Only me and you know about this so far!"

Jess *zips lips with imaginary zipper*

Dad *jokes* "Uh huh. We better put three locks on that zipper."

Jess *slaps his shoulder lightly* "Daaadd!!!"

Dad *laughs* "How many secrets have you been able to keep from Nicholas?"

Jess *thinking* Darn it...he's got a point. It is incredibly hard to keep anything from Nick. He's just way too observant in general when it comes to me, and we do know more about each other than anyone else....ugh.. and I can't even think of anything right now...darn it....he's got me.
