If you have not seen any of the following, it may make the story confusing. I recommend watching all of these before starting the book, but I will have a little clearing up on this for you lazy people (like me.)
Ouran Highschool Host Club (the setting of this book Obi) is a anime about, well, a host club. A group of boys of a club about entertaining girls. It's hilarious and feelsy. I totally recommend this anime. Find it on Netflix, and Hulu. And if your app allows the dub, I recommend that!
Gravity Falls: Mabel and Dipper are sent to their uncles home - which is a tourist site - in Oregon. This place is full of paranormal activity including gnomes, six fingered mysteries and a yellow floating all seeing dorito. It is on Hulu. And on Disney XD as rerunning episodes. If you decide to watch this on the TV, please watch them in order.
Over the Garden Wall: on Halloween Night, Wirt and Greg get lost into the woods, better described as The Unknown. A talking bird promises to help them get home, but this story is filled with lies turning into friendship, relationships that don't have to be romantic, and bonding. It's 10 episodes (11 minutes per episode) and it's pretty weird, but it's awesome. It is on Hulu.
