Chapter Two

Alex's POV

I looked outside the airplane window as I thought about Demi for the fifty millionth time that day. I was glad to be going home even though I loved my job and all of the excitement and danger it put me in. But I loved Demi more and would choose her over this job any day. But I worried about her when I wasn't around. All it took was for someone who hated me to pry into my private life and find out that I have a girlfriend who I plan on marrying one day. If someone like Dexter knew about Demi's existence her life would be in danger because Dexter would do anything to hurt and defeat me and Demi was the perfect way to hurt me. I placed my foot on the chair as Sebs came towards me a minute later.

"Excited to see Demi?" He asked. He sat down next to me a minute later. Sebs had been my best friend for as long as I could remember. I shared a room with him at the orphanage I lived in when I was a small kid. My parents died when I was three years old, or I should probably say were murdered when I was three

"More than you know." I admitted as I smiled

"Have fun tonight. You deserve it. But not too much fun." Sebs winked at me. I laughed at him.

"Don't worry I'll be careful." I replied to Sebs

"Good." Sebs responded. "I'm not ready to be an uncle yet."

"I don't think I'm ready to have a child yet. I struggle to leave Demi on her own." I told him

"I don't think Demi's parents would approve either." I continued.

"Not that they approve of you anyway." Jack reminded me.

"Yeah. Thanks for the reminder Jack." I said to him sarcastically.

"Aren't they suppose to be visiting soon?" He asked.

"Don't remind me."

"They can't be that bad." Sebastien said to me.

"Eddie brought a shovel last time and kept on looking at me weirdly. I think he was planning to kill me." I told him.

"And Diana?" Jack asked.

"She snoops around the whole house trying to find something that will break me and Demi up. It's a good job that all our devices are backed up with full security or I'm sure she would have found out by now." I replied to him.

"You'll have to tell her at some point." Jack reminded me.

"I know. But I'd rather it came from me then my girlfriends mother who hates me." I told him.

"We'll be landing soon." Jack said changing the topic of conversation.

Demi's POV

"Mum, dad I'm leaving." I called out as I grabbed my keys.

"Where are you going?" Mum asked me as she came towards me.

"To pick up Alex." I replied. My mother's face hardened.

"Mum please, no funny business."

My mum scoffed. "I don't know what you see in him. He's trouble and I'm pretty sure he is keeping something from you." Mum said to me.

"The only person who's causing trouble is you mum. Why can't you accept that I'm in love with him and there's nothing you can do about it?"

"Because I don't like him." My mum stated.

"I know. You've made that pretty clear." I muttered.

"How can you fall in love with someone who spent most of his life in care homes?" She asked me.

"Because unlike you I'm not a judgemental bitch." I responded before I went out of the front door.

I went towards my car and got in before I closed the door and started the engine. I backed out of my drive way. I couldn't wait to see Alex again after a whole month of him being away because of his work. I didn't know why my mum had such an issue with Alex though. Alex makes me happy and surely that's what she should want for her little girl?

As soon as I pulled into the airports car park my heart thumped with excitement. I was so excited to see him again and the best part of it was he wasn't going to be away for another three months at least. So I had him all to myself for three whole months. I got out of the car and went into the airport before I sat down at a café and ordered a drink while I was waiting.

Twenty long minutes later I felt arms wrap around me. "Excuse me but I'm going to have to take you home with me." A smile formed on my face as I heard Alex's voice. I stood up and turned around before I wrapped my arms around him.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too." He replied before he pulled my face closer to his before he leaned in and kissed me.

"Guys! At least go somewhere where we don't have to watch." Jack, one of Alex's best friends complained.

"Yes because me kissing Demi in front of you is worse than you hitting on a poor girl at the bar." Alex replied sarcastically.

"It worked." Jack pointed out.

"Yes. But I really didn't want to hear you having sex."

I laughed at their childish argument. "I think he's got you one this one Jack." I chipped in a minute later.

"Nice to see you to Dems." Jack replied to me

We said goodbye to Sebastien and Jack a few minutes later before we headed towards the car.
