5. If we get out of this alive

Chapter Five

Demi's POV

Sebastien cleared his throat as I went inside the house. The whole floor was one massive room with a kitchen and a table in the right side of the room. A star case was at the back of the room, leading to the second floor. The room wax painted a bright yellow colour with wooden flooring. In front of the stairs were three cream sofas that sat in front of the TV that hung on the wall with some random pictures. There was a fireplace underneath the TV and a bookcase stood next to it. Jack cleared his throat, grabbing my attention a second later. "How was your journey?" Jack asked me casually as if I was visiting for some completely different reason. He headed towards the fridge and opened it a second later. Jack looked at me a second later and I realised he was still waiting for me to answer his question.

"It was...interesting." I admitted as I sat down on one of the arm chairs. Jack started to laugh

"Let me guess. Rosie wouldn't stop singing and talking?" Jack asked me. I nodded my head.

Sebs smiled at me. "How are you?" He asked me.

"How am I supposed to feel?" I asked him. He shrugged his shoulders.

"No one can really tell you how to feel Dems.'

"Soda Demi?" Jack asked me.

"Um sure." I replied to him a second later.

"Normally people are a lot more talkative then this when they find out." Sebastien said

"I just want to know if he's okay." I admitted

"So you don't feel faint?" Sebs questioned me

"No." I told him.

"Really, because you look like you are about to pass out." Sebs replied to me. Jack came over a second later and passed me a can of Cherry Soda. I thanked him before I opened it and took a sip trying to keep myself awake until Alex got here. I wanted him to come through the door right then even though he didn't.

"I won't." I told him stubbornly. Jack sighed as he sat down on the other side of me. Sebs and Jack looked at each other before they looked at me.

"You know that if you don't go to sleep soon Alex will kill us right?" Jack asked me. I huffed in annoyance.

"Why does everyone say that?" I asked them both.

"Because it's true." Sebs stated as I took another sip of my drink.

"But I'm not some kid who can't take care of myself." I argued.

"We never said you were." Jack pointed out to me.

Jack's phone started ringing a minute later. "I have to take this." He said before he went out into the back garden.

"Who is it?" I asked Sebs.

"More than likely Alex." He replied. My heart thudded against my chest before I stood up and went outside. Jack turned around and looked at me.

"Yeah she's right here." He said.

"Okay I'll talk to you in a sec." He continued a second later.

He came over before he passed the phone to me. "It's Alex." He told me as I took the phone off him.

I placed the phone against my ear. "A-Alex?" I stuttered.

"Hey Dems." He replied.

"How are you?" He continued.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that question?" I asked.

"No I think that's something I should say." He replied.

"Okay...well I'm fine." I told him.

Alex sighed. "Demi don't lie to me."

"Okay I'm fucking terrified." I replied to him.

"I know but you are safe you-." I cut Alex off

"I'm not scared about my safety." I admitted

"Demi you don't have to worry about me." He said.

"How far away are you?" I asked him.

"I should be with you in just under three hours."

"Okay."

"Demi?" Alex said.

"Yes?"  I replied to him.

"Please get some sleep. You sound like you are exhausted." He told me.

"I don't know if I'll be able to..." I trailed off.

"Dems. I'm fine, really." Alex reassured me.

"Promise me?" I asked.

"I promise you." He replied.

"Look I need to go but I'll see you in under three hours." Alex continued. My heart fell a little as he said that.

"Okay." I said.

"I love you Demi." Alex told me.

"I love you too Alex." I whispered as Jack came towards me.

"Please stay safe and try to get some sleep." He begged me.

"I'll try." I replied to him.

"Good. I'll be there when you wake up." He promised me.

"I'll hold you to that."

Alex chuckled. "Okay."

I hung up the phone and passed Jack's phone to him. Exhaustion suddenly invaded my whole body as I headed inside. "I'm going to bed." I told Sebastien and Jack before I headed upstairs. I didn't know which room was the correct one so I just randomly opened a door and went inside. I slipped my shoes off and climbed into bed.

Alex's POV

"You and Demi are so cute together." Rosie told me.

"Are you going to say something like that every time I say I love her?" I asked her as I focused on the road.

"Oh come on! You are freaking adorable together."

"Okay. It's good to know you like her." I replied.

"So...Are you going to marry her?" Rosie asked

"If we get out of this alive then maybe." I said

The rest of the journey I was just trying to focus on the fact that I was seeing Demi again at some point. I knew she would probably be asleep but I couldn't wait to hold her again even if she might be mad at me for lying to her.

As soon as I finally reached the safe house Rosie stopped and I got out of the car. Rosie backed into the garage as I headed towards the front door. I typed the passcode in and the door flew open before I stepped inside the house.
