turning my face to movement next to me, i gave reece a small smile as he sat down.

"hey." he said, "you okay?"

"yeah, hi. my friends suck." i pouted, chuckling, seeing him do the same, my smile widening a little at the small, loving creases around his eyes and mouth as amusement momentarily covered his features.

"i don't suck?" reece frowned, unable to cover up his smirk.

"female friends." i corrected, rolling my eyes. "they're all off fucking." i giggled, cringing a little at the thought.

"i'm surprised you're not." reece snorted, his teeth showing as a grin lit up his face, causing one to light up mine.

"fuck off. i've been offered, but i'm not a hoe." i gasped over-dramatically.

"no, but you are pretty hot." reece smirked.

"only pretty hot?"

he rolled his eyes playfully, "um, do you wanna get out of here? i'm pretty bored too." he chuckled.

"not to fuck." i teased. "but yeah, sure. that'd be nice."

he smiled as i did, and we stood up simultaneously as i grabbed my bag, before we walked out together.

"where d'you want to go?" reece asked softly, putting an arm around my shoulders.

"i don't mind." i said, being lightly pulled towards his car. "we could go to my place and just chill, if you want?"

"sure, if your parents won't mind?" reece questioned, kindly opening the passenger door for me, before walking round to the right side and getting in himself.

"i highly doubt they'll be there, so no, they won't mind." i stated.

"oh, okay."

"um, turn left here, then right at the next road." i instructed.

"okay. why aren't your parents likely to be in, if you don't mind?"

i sighed, "well, it's my house. i never knew my dad, and my mum moved in with this guy 12 years ago. my older sister comes over sometimes, but she won't be here now, it's okay."

"i'm sorry." he frowned, a little crease on his forehead, "are you okay with it? is it hard having to cope on your own?"

"um, well i'm used to it, so i guess it's okay, but sometimes, yeah. sometimes i wish they were still here, but then most of the time i don't. i realise i'm better without them. and it's taught me a lot of things, i'm a brilliant cook." i giggled.

"well, i might have to stay for a while so i can try some of your food." reece smiled, and i found myself unable to look away from the side of his seemingly perfectly sculpted face as the smile faded, his features concentrating on the road ahead of him.

when reece looked at me a few moments later, a knowing smirk plastered on his lips, i managed to draw my eyes away, giving him instructions on the route to my house as we talked about a couple of other things.

"this is your house?"

"yeah." i chuckled at the familiar reaction.

"it's huge. especially for just you." reece stated.

"well, technically it's not just me." i smirked, reece's face displaying his confusion.

"you'll see, one sec." i smiled, getting out of his car and unlocking my front door, reece right behind me.

"hi, baby." i cooed when louis, my husky puppy, came bounding up to me, softly barking happily.

"bambi." i called, seeing her pad gently towards me, her's and louis' tails wagging like mad, as she came over and licked my ankle happily.

louis jumped up as reece fussed him, "that's louis." i chuckled, "he's mad, but super friendly. this is bambi, she's a shy little thing." i said, picking her up and stroking her gently, "she might be scared when you lean down to stroke her the first few times." i spoke softly.

"what breed is she?"

"she's a mini long haired dachshund."

"can i stroke her?" reece asked.

i nodded, "of course, yeah. do you want to hold her? if you comfort her she'll be less nervous." i stated, gently handing the little ball of fur over to reece, who cuddled her in his arms.

louis, feeling unloved from the lack of attention, dramatically jumped up at me and i picked him up, stroking him as he buried his little soft head into the crook of my neck.

hearing a soft whine, i turned around to see bambi looking a little worried in reece's unfamiliar arms, so i gave her a little stroke and placed a delicate, reassuring kiss to the top of her nose.

"it's so cute how much they love you." reece smiled fondly.

"yeah, i love them lots too." i smiled, "do you want a drink?"

"yeah, please. can i just have water?"

"sparkling?"

"please." reece smiled.

i put louis down, walking into the open plan living room and kitchen, getting two glasses and a bottle of sparkling water out.

"you can put her down on the sofa, if you want." i offered, reece doing so gently, louis joining her, the two furry cuties cuddling together.

"thank you." reece said as i handed him a glass, and i sat down on a stool at the island, reece sitting next to me.
