1 month later

"do you wanna come to devon with me?" i blurted as i was walking the puppies with reece, holding the two labrador's leads in one hand, and louis' lead in the other, as reece held bambi's.

"yeah, sure." he smiled.

"when?" i asked softly.

"i don't mind, we could go today if you wanted."

"alright." i nodded with a smile, "should i invite blake and george?"

"i don't mind, princess, but i'm sure they'd love to come." reece smiled, wrapping an arm around my waist.

"blake says he wants to come too." i stated, hanging up from just calling him, having previously called george who was coming.

reece smiled to me as i went and hugged him from the side, "do you need to get stuff from your house?"

"yeah."

"i'll drive you."

"thanks." he said softly, grabbing my hand as we walked outside to my car.

me: the front door's open, reece & i are at his house

i sent a text to the group chat incase one or both of the boys got there while we weren't there.

"bye, lexi." i smiled, crouching down to hug her.

"bye." i smiled to reece's parents, and lyndsey hugged me, before reece and i got back in my car and i drove home.

"hi, george." i smiled, hugging him when i walked through the front door, him sat, fussing louis, on the sofa.

the four of us got in my range rover, reece in the passenger seat, blake behind me and george behind reece, the two labradors on reece's lap, louis and bambi between the two boys in the back.

"reece." i mumbled, nudging him and motioning to the blonde and brunette in the back seat, who were kissing softly, the younger boy's hands in the older boy's hair, the blonde's hands gently cupping blake's face.

"that was the cutest kiss." i smiled, speaking quietly once the two'd pulled away, blushes creeping into their cheeks.

reece's head was on my lap, as i played with his hair, as he lay on his back, as i sat on the sofa, blake and george on the other sofa, the older boy's arm loosely around the younger boy.

mine and reece's phones were both laying on his stomach, and one buzzed, signalling a text.

i glanced down to see it was his phone, but noticed it was a text from his mum, apologising, but i ignored it, thinking not much of it.

i looked down and tears were clouding reece's eyes, a few salty droplets dripping down his face.

"oh, baby, are you alright?" i asked softly, leaning down and kissing the tears away.

"my dad used to do that for my mum--kiss away her tears." reece mumbled, and a small smile spread across my lips as i kissed his forehead.

"but, um, mum would always get upset at this scene." reece added and my eyes flickered up to the screen, before returning to his face.

"why's that upset you?" i mumbled.

"it doesn't matter." reece said, forcing a small smile.

"tell me." i cooed, pecking his lips.

he sat up, gently taking my hand and leading me out, george and blake sending him reassuring and caring smiles.

"um, my parents are going through a rough patch, and they're considering a divorce." reece mumbled and i immediately wrapped my arms around his waist, hugging him, his head on my shoulder.

"i'm sorry." i said softly.

"it's okay. i only didn't want to tell you because you have your own stuff, and you might've cancelled this trip and i didn't want to ruin it." reece said, and i cupped his face.

"it's alright, but you should've just told me, baby, and don't worry about me, would you like to go home?"

"i wanna stay here with you and the lads." he mumbled.

"you sure?"

"yeah. thank you." he smiled, and i wandered back into the living room as reece and i sat in our previous positions.

i leant down to kiss him, one hand holding his jaw, the other in his hair, as he cupped my face, smiling into the kiss.

"i love you." he mumbled.

"ditto." i smiled, sitting up again as reece laced our fingers, causing my face to display my happiness, his head still in my lap.
