It was October the second. It had been exactly a month since Ben or Hux had heard from each other.

Ben had quit his job at Starbucks because he was too busy with homework from his new acting job, from school and from being a TA for Snoke. He was always exhausted but he lived off the fact that fall break was soon (in about 3 weeks) and that all of his work would not be in vain.

Snoke had recommended him to do an online Shakespeare studying class that would help him get credits for his acting class, so Ben decided to do it. He didn't regret it because it didn't add much to his workload, he only had to do 2 hours a week and he thought it was fun. It was almost like a break from his hectic life.

Rey had also helped a lot with things. She had taken it upon herself to do both her laundry and Ben's, and she would cook all of their meals. No new news, but Ben was so happy to have her.

It was easy for Ben not to pine over Hux because of so much going on in his life. Yet, Hux was the last thing Ben thought of when he went to bed and the first thing he thought of when he woke up in the morning. Ben also lived off the hope that he would be able to see Hux in fall break.

Though, when Ben had a little bit of time on his hands, which was barely, he would think about the fact that his boyfriend hadn't called him in a month and it hurt him.

After returning back to the dorm after a long day of school, Ben collapsed onto his bed and slopes his backpack off his back and into the floor. He was thankful that he didn't have any papers to grade from Snoke today but he still had so, so much to do. After five minutes of resting (if anyone would call that rest, Ben was stressing about what he had to do), Ben got up and took his laptop to the homework desk. As soon as he sat down, his phone buzzed. It was a text from Finn saying: "Rey's over. We're all doing hw together, u wanna come?"

Ben shrugged. 'Why not,' He thought, and put his laptop back into his backpack and headed over to Finn's. It took him five minutes to get there, and he knocked on the door.

It was Poe who answered, with his dark brown curly hair messy and his shirt off    Ben raised an eyebrow, and he admitted to himself that e was surprised at how prominent Poe's biceps and abs were.

Poe grinned when he saw Ben. "Hey, Ben! Rey just came like, 7 minutes ago. Finn is working on his creative writing homework, do you wanna be a character in this fairytale he's making up?" Poe reaches his hand up and ran his fingers through his hair in the back.

"Haha. Sure, Finn. I have a rough draft to write and some math to finish and... something else, I'll remember soon. But I feel like homework today will only take 3 hours or so."

'Maybe I'll even have time to call Hux...' Ben thought.

"Ah, lucky!" Poe moved out of the doorway so Ben could walk in. Ben saw Poe walk into the bedroom.

When he walked in, Ben saw Finn typing furiously on a laptop he had on the coffee table in front of the tv. "Hey there," Finn said without looking up. "How you doing, Ben?"

"I'm good. Can I sit next to you?"

"Yeah, yeah, of course. Can I ask you something quick? It's just out of my care for you and my curiosity." Finn said all of this without looking up.

"Uh, okay?"

"How long since you talked to Brendol?"

Ben sighed, resting his chin in his hand. "It's been an entire month today. I feel like he's pretty busy too, and that's the reason that neither of us have been able to call each other."

Finn looked up to Ben, who turned back to face him. Finn said, "Don't worry about it, man. I mean, I'm not the best person to help you out with this because I haven't had a day without Poe since the two of us started dating, not to brag or anything of course." He added the last part quickly, then patted Ben on the back. "Hey, Ben? At least there's fall break soon, right?"

Ben smiled at Finn. For some reason, he genuinely felt better. Probably because he talked to his best friend. "Yeah, at least there's that. Oh, and Finn? Did you fix your coffee machine? I'm in a real mood for a latte."

Hux could not believe that it had been a month without hearing the love of his life's voice. He didn't blame himself or Ben. He blamed England and the crappy time differences.

Luckily, Hux and Ellen Phasma's project was nearly finished. Hux was typing on Microsoft word at the moment, trying to finish a 15 page document on one of the diseases. Ellen was to do the others, and Hux sort of felt sorry for her because it was A LOT to do. Hux was on his 4th cup of coffee and Millicent was knocked out.

Hux wondered about how Ben was doing. He knew he did this every day at every chance he could get but he still wondered. He cared about the little things, like what Ben had for breakfast or the way he pet Millicent, or the way that his nose scrunched up when laughing at a terrible joke Rey or Han told. He shook his head, praying that Ben didn't think that Hux was being unfaithful to him and that was the reason to why he wasn't calling.

Hux shook his head. Now he felt like he was just overreacting. Ben was fine, and Hux knew that he wouldn't think that because he knew that both Ben and himself were comfortable in their relationship.

He was able to finish the paper and save it. He wrote a note telling himself to print it out tomorrow and placed it on his laptop. Hux knew he wouldn't be sleeping because of all the coffee he drank, so he took the free time he had to watch some Downton Abbey re-runs that were on PBS. Hux knew that Ben wouldn't be able to talk on the phone even if Hux decided to call him.

Somehow, the caffeine wore off pretty quickly and Hux fell asleep within the hour. And the last thing that was on his mind was an image of Ben, on the first day of Hux's junior year, back in Snoke's class, when Hux had first laid eyes on him.
