"Did you run into any trouble?" Lord Virote asked as he held his hand out offering Kyra and Adrianus a place at his fire.
Showing their respect, they hit their chest and bowed briefly before finding a place to set down.
Nodding, "Yes. We came across a small group of troops. There wasn't no way around them as our why lead to a road were we had to following a ways down."
Not sure if she would be punished for being on the road, Lord Virote listened as she explained her journy. She left out the part where she spared two lifes but did tell him she throw two off a cliff to their death.
"Did you hide the bodies well?" Lord Virote asked as he grabbed himself a plate of food.
"Yes my Lord. The only why they will find them is when their bodies are decaying." She answered.
"Good." Lord Virote gave them a plate, "I knew I chosen well when I Knighed you."
Setting proudly, "I'm honored my Lord. I will not let you down." Kyra knew that was a lie. She would fight to stay alive and keep her father alive. She's not fighting for him nor her King.
Nodding, "Now, lets eat."
After their meal, Lord Virote stood, "Go...You and your father need to rest. I have many scouts out there keeping an eye on the castle and our surrounding. So sleep well these next few days as well will start our war on the third sunrise.
Finding an area to make their tent, Kyra didn't know how tired she really was until her head hit her pillow.
With time on her hands, the day went by way to slow. With that time, she eased herself away from everyone.
Following a faint trail along the mountain side she found herself in a place over looking a beautiful villey below. Taking everything in she found herself relaxing. There she knelt down on her knees and begain to prey.
Ending her preyers, Kyra felt at peace. As she stood to look over the villey, she found that her site had changed. The world looked brighter, clearer, sharper and she could see further then before.
Her hearing is sharper as she started to hear things that she couldn't hear before and she could see the magic in the air and land. Even her own magic and powers felt stronger.
Finding a bolder, Kyra sat down trying to take in everything. She could see a thick guarded wall protectiong a village inside. There was a waterfall that that glistened down into a shimmering pool of blue water.
The castle sat off to the side on the foothills over looking it's kingdom. It held a handful of towers with about four to five floor levels. There were also a few balconies which may or may not lead to a bedroom.
With her powers stronger, Kyra could see that someone was making their way tours her from the other side. Seeing the picture clearer and in somewhat of color, she knew that it was her father.
"It is so peaceful here." she told her father once he got into ear rang without looking over at him.
Finding a borlder himself, he sat down and took in the sites, "It has a warm feeling to it. Sort of what a real home might feel like."
Knowing that there was something bothering his daughter, Adrianus voice was soft and comforting, "Kyra? You know you can talk to me. You can tell me anything and it will stay between us."
There was something she wanted to tell him. One, she was tired of all the fighting so, two. She knew she had signed their death when she let the boy and dark skined woman go. Knowing she would be the one that killed her father, tears started to fall.
Seeing glimmers on her cheeks, he knew that something was setting heavy on her mind and heart, Kyra please. Talk to me." there was a hint of sadness in his tone.
Whipping the shame off her face, "I hate this." she couldn't help but cry out softly. "I really do. I am so tired of killing. Taking what little food a village has and killing the men who try to protect their things and family. They are not even trained like we are so it's nothing to kill them."
Taking a deep breath, Kyra knew it was time to tell her father what she had done. "I need to tell you something and you're not going to like it." her voice was low.
"I'll determen that. You just tell me what you need to tell me. I'm listening."
Looking at him for the first time since he arrived, Adrianus went speechless. He had heard about this but thought it was only a myth. Knowing that it was real, he couldn't be more prouder.
Whatever she must have done, the spirits saw something and gave her the power and magic of the lands. It was the highest honor anyone in this world could recive.
Her eyes glowed a greenish silver as she looked into his, "Remember the fight we had on the side of the mountain?"
"Yes. I remember."
Her expression was far away as she slowly turned her gaze back to the villey, "The troops we fought were guarding a royal carrage. While the men were fighting the horsemen, I took care of the ones in the carrage. I was glad that I did.
There was a dark skinned woman waiting for me. She was very skilled but I still over powered her as I manage to get the horses disconnceted and put the carrage on it's side. Inside was a young boy.
When I heard his voice from within, something happened. Something I can't explain, only that I felt the need to protect him against anyone that wanted to harm him. Even my men."
She looked back at him, "The feeling got stronger when I saw him claim out. That's when I made my choice to let both of them live. I told them to let who ever they need to tell about what they saw and helped them down the cliff and avoid the rocks in the stream."
"So they know we're coming." Adrianus voice stayed calm.
"I'm sorry." she was worried about her father's life then her own.
Smiling warmly, he got up and briefly gave her a small hug, "Always trust your instences, no matter if it is right or wrong." he placed a hand on her shoulder, "Always follow your heart and you will be fighting with honor." he hugged her again, "I couldn't be more prouder of you."
Not understanding the joy in his voice, the look on her face must have given it away as he mentioned, "Do you remember the stories I used to tell you about the Kingdom Spirits Fighters?"
"Yes." She answered.
"Remember I told you that they were very powerful spirits that only chooses a person who they know is right to carry a powerful magic and use it to keep a kingdom safe."
"I remember, but where are you going with this?" She hadn't put it together yet.
"Well. Let me asked you this. How do you feel, I mean your powers, magic things like that."
"I feel stronger, powerful. My magic, my powers, I can see and hear sharper and further." Kyra answered him.
Smiling proudly, Adrianus finely said, "They chosen you Kyra."
"What?" she coughed. "How do you know?"
Grinning, "We have to keep your eyes covered as they are glowing. We need to at least learn how to stop the glow as that's when your most powerful. You are tapping into the magic around you."
"How?" there was a hint of fear in her voice. If Lord Virote finds out about her now. He would have her at the front killing everyone that stands in front of him.
Shrugging, "I'm not sure but we will." he stood up, "Now, lets get started."
