Chapter 19: Alice

Natsu slowly sat up and groaned, at the same time, Wendy sat up and looked over at Natsu. He grinned slightly and looked back at Wendy, 

"Hey Wendy. Are you ok?" Wendy nodded and smiled back. Natsu got up out of the bed and tried standing up. But before he could walk two steps, his legs collapsed under him and he fell to the ground, 

"Natsu!" Wendy cried out to Natsu with a dry yell, 

"Don't worry, I'm ok. Just feel a little weak..." Wendy tried getting up but collapsed as well. She caught herself on the edge of the bed and looked at Natsu with a confused face, 

"What happened to us?" Natsu looked down to his hands and frowned slightly, 

"Something doesn't feel right...I feel like there is something inside me..." Wendy coughed and slid to the ground by Natsu. 

"Yeah me too. What do you think happened to us? Where are we anyway?" Wendy and Natsu started looking around and Natsu spotted his vest on a coat rack in the corner of the room. He grinned and tried getting up again, 

"This is a good challenge for me, I can try to grab my vest from over there without falling down." Wendy laughed and smiled at Natsu, 

"Go for it Natsu." He grinned and stood up. He wobbled slightly and put his hand on the wall, he took a shaky step forward and paused for a few seconds. He took his hand away from the wall and ran forward. Natsu's legs nearly collapsed under him again but he grabbed onto the coat rack before he could fall down. He reached up and grabbed his vest and turned to Wendy with a wide grin on his face, 

"Did it!" Wendy laughed as Natsu put his vest on and made his way to where he was previously sitting. She layed on the ground and looked up to the ceiling, 

"Where do you think everybody else is? Lucy would be up here wouldn't she?" Natsu nodded slowly and made his way to the door but before he opened it, he turned to Wendy for confirmation, 

"Yeah." Natsu nodded and opened the door slowly, there was nobody sitting there. He looked both ways and started walking down the long hallway, he came up to a set of stairs and went down. When Natsu got to the bottom of the stairs, there was someone sitting at the desk. She looked up and ran over to Natsu to help him back up the steps because he was too weak to keep walking, 

"I'm sorry. I would have come up here if I knew that you two had woken up." Natsu shook his head and smiled at the woman, 

"Do you know where our friends are?" The woman looked to the ground and Natsu frowned slightly, "Do you know where they are?" The woman looked up to Natsu and Wendy with a sad look on her face, 

"Since you two were out cold, they brought you here and stayed here for a few days, watching over you. But after about a week, they decided to go on the job you were sent here to complete and they told me to take care of you until you woke up. It's been 9 days and I've heard that the location of your job blew up a few days ago." Natsu's eyes widened and he slowly stood up with his hair covering his eyes, covering his expression. 

"Natsu..." He walked up to the woman and put his hands on her shoulders gently,

"Do you know how I can recover my magic energy? I'm almost completely drained and I need a way to get it back as quick as possible." The woman shook her head, 

"No, I'm sorry. I don't know anything about magic. I really wish that I could help you..." Natsu pulled away from the woman and clenched his fists, 

"Wendy, do you know how long it will take for all of my magic energy to be restored?" Wendy stood up and supported herself on his arm, 

"I think it will take a day or two." Natsu looked up at the woman with kind eyes, 

"Do you mind if we stay here a few more days so that we can replenish our magic? We won't be any trouble." The woman nodded but walked close to the two mages with concern in her eyes, 

"But you have to hide the fact that your mages. I can't let anyone here figure out about you two. There are some pretty dangerous people here and I don't want to cause any trouble." Natsu nodded and grabbed his coat from the rack and put it on over his Fairy Tail mark. Wendy already had on a long sleeved shirt and it was already covering her guild mark. The woman smiled, 

"Your mages of Fairy Tail right?" Wendy smiled and nodded, 

"Yeah. Thank you for letting us stay here." The woman smiled and nodded, 

"Sure thing young lady. Can you tell me your names?" Natsu smiled and pointed to himself, 

"I'm Natsu and this is Wendy." The woman's eyes widened in shock, 

"You're THE Natsu and Wendy?! Your two of the three dragon slayers of Fairy Tail..." The woman smiled and grabbed Wendy's hands in a friendly way, "Don't worry. You can stay here as long as you want. Nobody here knows of you two or Gajeel. So don't worry about changing your names or something." Natsu smiled and nodded, 

"Ok. Thanks." The woman smiled and walked away from Natsu and Wendy. She turned and smiled at the two mages, 

"By the way, my name's Alice. And there is breakfast downstairs when you want to eat. Food's free." Natsu grinned, 

"Best place ever!" Wendy smiled and nodded, 

"Thank you Alice. We'll be down there in a little bit." Alice nodded and walked away from Natsu and Wendy who were still standing up in the room. Natsu walked over to the door and closed it. Then him and Wendy walked over to their beds and collapsed heavily into them, 

"I feel so tired and weak..." Wendy groaned and closed her eyes. Natsu nodded sleepily, 

"Yeah, me too...We'll get some food after a nap..." Wendy nodded and fell asleep, 

"Don't worry guys, we're coming to get you..." Natsu's eyes slowly closed and he fell into a deep sleep.
