Chapter 3: Fairy Tail

Lucy's eyes widened in shock and joy, 

"Really!?" She looked over to Natsu eagerly, "Can I become a member?" Natsu smirked slightly and looked at Gray.

"I can't let you do that princess. Someone would see the mark and we would get in trouble." Natsu looked at Lucy quickly and slightly backed up, 

"You're the princess!? Why did you tell her about the guild Gray!?" Gray barked a laugh and pointed at Lucy, 

"Didn't you just hear her? She asked if she could join. She won't tell, she's been interested in magic since she was a child." Natsu frowned at Lucy and got up in her face. She realized that he was warmer than most people. Gray was pretty cold because he used ice magic...could Natsu use magic?

"If you tell one person about Fairy Tail, you're going to regret it. Got it?" Lucy nodded then clapped her hands in excitement,

"Can you use magic?" Natsu looked at Lucy in shock. 

"He can but he hasn't used it in 4 years." Natsu turned on Gray and scowled. Lucy put her hands to her sides and looked at Natsu in absolute shock, 

"Why haven't you used your magic Natsu?" Natsu furiously turned on Lucy and brought his hand up in front of her. There was a red band around his wrist. As Lucy was looking at it Natsu pointed at it with his thumb, 

"Because of this thing! My brother put it on me before he banned me from his kingdom." Lucy's eyes widened in shock. She locked eyes with Natsu, 

"Can you tell me what happened? I want to know what happened. Some people think that you were a slave in Zeref's castle and others say that you are his younger brother. Which is it?" Natsu slowly dropped his hand to his side and he frowned at Lucy, 

"Both. When I was younger, a dragon found me in the woods and taught me how to use magic. After a few years he disappeared and I stumbled on the Tartaros kingdom. Zeref caught me stealing food and decided to adopt me as his younger brother. But even though I was his "Brother", he still treated me as another slave that lived in the castle." Natsu paused and looked at Lucy. Her eyes were wide and she was listening closely, "One day, I sneaked out and I went to the Heartfilia kingdom and as I was there, I found a building called Fairy Tail. I walked in and Gray was the only person there. So I went up and asked him if I could join. So I joined the guild and got a friend. I went back to the kingdom and Zeref found out that I left the kingdom and put this band on my wrist to cancel out my magic power. Then sent me away from the kingdom. So I became an orphan again and started stealing food to survive." Lucy looked at Natsu in shock, 

"Is there any way that you can get the band off?" Natsu shook his head, 

"No. The only way to get it off is if the person wearing it is killed. And it is slowly draining my life force which will kill me in about a year or two." Lucy gasped. She looked to Gray for confirmation and he nodded solemnly. 

"I've looked in all the magic libraries and they all say the same thing." Lucy backed up a few steps and ran out of the hiding place. Natsu sighed slightly and turned to Gray. But before he could say a thing, Natsu cried out as Gray struck him down. 

"Finally caught you off guard thief. I'll take you to the castle and see what the princess wants to do with you."
