julian de la rosa
the boy who lived

her next visit, ramona brought along with her the first harry potter book in the series, the philosopher's stone. the book looked—and felt—brand new, it was a fact ramona knew and was proud of. she never ever folded the top corners of a book's page as a bookmark, and tended to stay away from people who did.

she knew though, that once julian and herself finished reading the book together, it might not look brand new anymore. and she found that she didn't mind in the slightest.

by the end of the half blood prince, ramona had turned julian into a monster of a fan. they took online quizzes to find out what they're patronus would be, who their bestfriend from the book would be, which subject they would excel in, and which house they would be placed in. ramona always knew she was a hufflepuff, and the test was correct. and julian de la rosa was a gryffindor. which was a hundred percent true, for he was the bravest person she had ever met.

when it was finally time to start reading the deathly hallows with julian, ramona couldn't stop her excited fidgeting and the smile that wouldn't go away. julian reminded ramona of harry potter, the boy who lived. she didn't remember a version of the books where harry died. well, everyone thought he did, but he came back.

julian de la rosa never came back.

ramona remembered the moment her excitement vanished when she entered julian's room and found his mother holding his hand with tear stained cheeks.

and it was the worst thing she had ever felt.
