"Yes Abby I am as ready as I will ever be." Ziva replied trying to hide her nervousness.
It funny. Ziva thought to herself as she was looking in a mirror putting on a striking set of diamond earrings. Even though Tony and I prepared the ceremony to the best of our abilities so we would not have to run around last minute, I am still feeling quite unsteady. She suddenly realizes, Tony... in a mere fifteen or so minutes will be waiting for me at the end of the isle. Dressed up in a tuxedo and grinning with the Dinozzo trademark, the only smile that gives me flutters in my stomach. Just at the thought Ziva could have sworn she was starting to sweat. Who would have thought I could ever feel this why for a man!
"Then what are you waiting for?" Exclaimed Abby. "Do you need any help?"
Snapped back from her thoughts Ziva replied, "Oh yes! Sorry Abby you may enter now."
As Abby slowly opens the door to the bride's changing room she takes one glance at Ziva and she is smiling from ear to ear.
"Oh my gosh Ziva you look absolutely beautiful!" Abby practically screams as she scurries over and gives Ziva her classic Abby hug.
"Thank you Abby." Ziva replies slightly startled. "Ah, I am having trouble breathing."
"Oh sorry!" Abby quickly releases her sister like friend and does so in a way that a young child would if they were caught being a bit too rambunctious.
"It's okay Abby. You look beautiful yourself." Ziva comments on Abby's all black gown. Both Ziva and Tony agreed to not argue with the goth's fashion sense and allowed her to wear black even though the weddings theme colors are navy blue and an off white color.
Abby hands Ziva a bouquet of fresh Daisy's as she slightly bows and lowers her head. "The man of the hour request I give these to his soon to be bride." Abby exclaims in a accent in which Ziva can't make out if it's supposed to be British or Scottish.
Ziva feels her self get warm and feels a rush of heat spread straight up her face. It never ceases to amaze me how much of a hopeless romantic Tony turned out to be. He has grown so much in the past few years and is everything I could of hoped for in the man I chose to marry and father my children. Ziva suddenly thinks of their little girl. "How is Tali holding up on the wait? I hope she is not commencing the petal throwing on her own schedule. " Ziva states and slightly implies as a question also.
"She is being so good Ziva! She was only alittle distracted and almost slipped until her Grandpa Gibbs reminded her how she wants to help make her Ima and Abba's big day special!" Abby informs.
"Good I'm so glad she's behaving for Gibb's knowing that he didn't get much sleep last night." Ziva says with a bit of amusement evident in her tone of voice.
Since both Tony and Ziva decided to have a small wedding, nothing too extravagant, they settled on having only a small portion of Catholic traditions mixed in. Since Tony is not Jewish he will be waiting for her at the end of the aisle, unlike in Jewish tradition the groom walks down to the alter as well as the bride. That being said, Abby and Eleanor Bishop, a new probie Ziva came to really like, wanted the tradition of the bride and groom to be separated after the reception rehearsal. McGee tagged along in the whole idea seeing as it would be amusing to see two of his best friends struggle with the separation.
"Oh Gibbs holds up well! I believe he already had three cups of coffee, he's fine!" Abby explains.
"Oh my... I will have some apologizing to do to Gibbs if he will except it that is."
Just then, there is another knock at the door. Both McGee and Bishop peek in.
"Hey uhh Ziva, the ceremony is about to begin Gibbs wants you and Abby in the line up now." McGee says adding, "By the way Tony is going to be speechless. He finishes with a smile as he enters the room to give Ziva a warm hug.
"Thank you Mcgee. I'm sure Tony will be tongue twisted." Ziva says.
"Tongue tied, and you do look smashing. I especially like what you have done with your hair." Bishop adds as she also gives Ziva a hug.
Just then a third knock is heard at the door and Gibbs walks in with Tali holding his hand. Gibbs motions for Abby, McGee, and Bishop to go to the assembly line.
As only Gibbs and Tali are left with Ziva, Ziva nervously breaks the ice.
"Well this is it." Short and brief Ziva would have like to add more.
"Yes it is." replies Gibbs. Typical functional mute as Tony would say. That he is! Ziva thinks.
"Thank you Gibbs for everything. I do not think you know how much it means for you to having accept my request to give me away." Ziva says sincerely.
"It's an honor Ziva. I'm proud of you. Both of you." Gibbs says with a hint of a smile.
"Thank you Gibbs." Says Ziva.
As Ziva looks down at her daughter, " Are you ready to throw the petals Tali?"
"Yes. I'ma going make Ima and Abba happy!" Tali exclaims in her three year old enthusiasm.
"That you are!" Ziva says as she knells down and pulls her daughter in for a hug.
After Ziva hugs Tali Gibbs gives Ziva a hug as well and gently kisses Ziva on the forehead before saying, "Let's go Ziver, someone's waiting for you."
At this moment Ziva is beyond nervous one arm intertwined in the mans arm that is more of a father to her then her own father ever was. As she is also holding the petite hand of her daughter with her other hand. Ziva may be unsettled moments before approaching her soon to be husband, however she could not be more excited because this is the start of something new and this something was going to be her everything.
This was so much fun to write!
Any suggestions for the next chapter?
