The moment Gibbs interlapsed his arm with Ziva's, she began to have frozen feet. No cold feet, not frozen. She thought to herself as she slightly let out a giggle at the thought of her many attempts of incorrect idioms. If someone gave her a dollar for all the times Tony corrected her she would be rich. Well this is it. I am about to meet Tony at the end of the isle and become Mrs. Dinozzo. Of course she would hyphen her family name with her new last name.
She considers the David family name her connection to the times of when she was fully connected with her family. Her mother and father along with Ari and Tali, around the diner table, together as a family before things fell threw. Before her father Eli had an affair with Orli, at the time a subordinate Mossad officer. Yes, she did have alot of hurt with the David family history, however it will forever be apart of her. No matter what happened in the past, she still loved her family. Even her father and Ari.
Ziva tried to calm her nerves during the moment, focusing her attention on Tali so she did not lose control of her emotions. That's the last thing she wanted to do considering she was once a tough liaison officer turned NCIS agent apart of team Gibbs. No. She thinks to herself feeling quite foolish. Today is the day I begin to spend the rest of my life with Tony who proved his love for me time and time again. She begins to relax a bit more, especially since Gibbs notices her uneasiness. He whispers in her left ear as the intro music begins to the ceremony, "Relax Ziver this is your day, hell you two deserve it!"
That's when it all started, the procession began. After McGee and Bishop walk down to the alter, Abby almost skips along following as she holds Tali's hand and directs the little flower girl's throwing of the petals. An announcement is made asking the guest to please raise and welcome the bride. Ziva has never been more flustered. She thought it was kind of silly to have all of this attention drawn to her, but Tony insisted that it was only right, so she gave in because she knew it would make him happy and that's all that really mattered to her.
As the music for the bride's arrival begins she feels as though she is floating while Gibbs her surrogate father, leads her to the man who always had her back. She begins to see flashes of montages running threw her mind of the times spent as coworkers, but more importantly friends. One moment in particular stood out. The time when she and Tony discussed weddings in the bull pen before Palmer's wedding.
Flashback:
"Please... who really likes weddings any ways?!" Tony asked trying to play off his uncertainties about the whole concept."There's nothing good about them." Ziva replied.
"Weird uncles make inappropriate toasts." Tony quickly resumed.
"Rubber chicken enhanced by cheap wine." Ziva stated slightly aggravated by the concept.
"Cheesy music and children. Retail tuxedos!" Tony said in a slight disgust.
"The bouquet, the Gardner, the cake, the..." Ziva continued.
"The fittings!" Tony helped finish her thought.
"The fittings! The fittings! I'm not even in to the actual ceremony yet!" Ziva said with a sarcastic scoff.
"The vows." Tony replied slightly on a more serious note.
"Hmph... The ring." Ziva adds.
"The kiss." Tony said after a pause.
Ziva smiled and replied, "Hmph the Ketubah."
"I don't know even know what I would do if I had to deal with all of that." Tony added.
"Allope?!" Ziva replied.
Current time:
Yes, those where the times when Ziva, along with Tony, both denied their feelings for each other. They were afraid to overcome the boundaries of rule number twelve. At this current moment Ziva cannot believe the turn that fate took and how she and Tony had the gift of Tali to open their eyes.
By the end of this thought Ziva finds herself at the alter. As Gibbs pulls her to him slightly and says, "I'm happy for you Ziver!" He grins and kisses her forehead as he turns and takes a seat next to Tony's father.
As Ziva looks Tony in the eyes she cannot believe the intensity of love that this man has for her. He grins slightly, probably as nervous she is, and he takes her hand. The officiant begins to recite the words everyone knew all to well."Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today..."
This chapter was so much fun to write! I also did research on weddings and learnt a few things as well! I hope you enjoy!
