PLEASE READ AUTHORS NOTE

I pushed my glasses up and my parents stopped there and watched me walk towards the hall with my pen, pencil, ruler, calculator and rubber. I felt like my ruler was going to snap I was that scared, but to get over a fear you must face it.

I walked into the hall to see everyone sat down at there exam seats, their heads turned, teachers, students, invigilators, they all looked at me. It was so silent that you could hear the floorboards move, everyone sat there in shock just staring at me. I scanned the faces to see Mia who had a face of sympathy, my friends who looked excited, then finally him. Mr Minter. His face showed a rollercoaster of mixed emotions, I held eye contact with him and all I felt was hate, the hate of when he took my virginity, the hate of when he kissed me, the hate of when he took me back to my parents and left me. 

"GIRLS!" I heard the deputy head shout, causing me to jump and break eye contact with Mr Minter.

I turn my head to see Eloise, Katerina and Zoe running towards me. I braced for the impact and felt 3 separate impacts one after the other. I put my arms out behind me as I fall back, I didn't feel the thud on the floor all I felt was happiness.

"Hey" I said with a small smile.

"WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH" Eloise said.

"I missed you guys too, but please don't do that again without warning me, I'm in quite a bit of pain now" I said as I felt my leg where I had an implant put in a few days ago.

"Oh sorry, we just missed you so much" Zoe said and I smiled.

"We should probably get back to our exam now" I said in a soft low tone.

"Yeah we should"

They all got up then Zoe and Kat helped me up as I kept my leg straight. I hobbled along to my desk.

"Miss. Garcia" the deputy head said "no show socks and all black vans? Although they follow the school colour code trainers aren't permitted"

"Sorry sir, it's just cos of my leg. My school shoes aren't comfortable and my leg is swollen so the school socks don't really help. Hospital and GP told me it had to be that way. I think you know about my situation and the severity?" I said whispering.

"Yes I do know and in that case, it's fine. Come and see me if there are any problems." He smiled then walked off.

"You have 1 hour 35 minutes you may now begin"

The time had passed and I felt like I aced that exam, when I was in hospital and bed I spent time revising for the exams and I think I read and memorised every book possible in each subject.

The deputy head dismissed the rows one by one. I looked to Kat and she mouthed 'we'll wait for you'. I had to leave last you see, I wasn't used to my old life just yet. After everyone left I got up from my chair and felt weak as it was my first day off medication. I felt somebody grab my hand and elbow then help me up.

"Thank yo-" I turned to see that it was Mr Minter that was helping me up.

"Mr Minter"

"Ellis"

I stared at him long and hard, the hatred overwhelmed me yet it was masking something, it was masking the love I have for him.

"I'll help you out" he said breaking the silence we stood in.

I looked around and no other teacher was around, I was forced to have him help me.

"Why are you helping me" I said looking at the placement of my feet.

"Because I still care about you."

The hatred was boiling, it had to come out.

"Care about me?! If you really did care about me you wouldn't have taken me back to them and I wouldn't be in the state I am now" I said and I knew it burnt his heart.

"Ellis I-"

"Save it" I said then walked out of the hall he followed me as I saw the deputy head stand there with my friends.

"Ellis! When you come back for your second exam I'll help you from place to place as your friends have different exam time tables to you" he said and I smiled.

"Thank you"

"Mr Rogerson, as you're helping her around will you help her to see me after her exam? I need to talk to her about her coursework" Mr Minter said.

Are you being fucking serious?

"Sure thing Mr Minter"

Mr Rogerson helped me to the classroom where Mr Minter was now at. I walked in and shut the door, I saw him sitting there and I just stared at him.

"What happened to you?" He said soft and like he was on the verge of crying.

"I changed"

"No the past year"

I took in a deep breath, I guess he deserved to know.

"I stopped eating for like a week or so before finally going out and catching a cold. I still refused to eat and the cold mutated into a horrible disease that was hard to cure in a short amount of time, I also had mental issues, making matters worse for myself and the doctors. The treatments stopped working and he skinner I got, I was slowly dying. I ended up having 5 major surgeries and 3 minor" I said lifting up my shirt showing my surgery scars "It worked for a bit then my immune system completely collapsed, I was dying rapidly and started to have fits, I was scared and just wanted to end my pain until I got in contact with a medicinal specialist, he heard about my case and agreed to fly over and help. He gave me medicines that had extreme pain killers, anti-inflammatory, mucus reduction and a whole bunch of concoctions. Eventually, I got better and come off the medicine, now I'm off the adrenaline boosters and pain killers but they still have an implant in my leg that works if I go into critical conditions" I said and shrugged my shoulders.

"I'm sorry" he said looking at me.

"The damage is done now, I can forgive but I will never forget" I said and he just looked at me.

"I still love you" he said and it sent me into shock "I know I never got to say it, but I really do, my head has been down ever since" he said and looked like he was about to burst out crying.

"I know you hate me for what I've done and I hate myself also, but I need to know.... Did you ever love me?"

I felt myself get taken back, I didn't know what to say....
