"Tell me a secret." Stiles bites off the head of a gummy bear then proceeds to do a head-replacement-operation, putting a green one in it's place.
"You already know all of my secrets." Lydia points out, which is true. He knew she accidentally killed her hamster in the fourth grade by feeding it rat poison ("the pellets looked alike!!!" Nine year old Lydia argued) how she was the one who ran over their mailbox at age twelve (Stiles took the blame because her mother always adored the boy), how she was the one who made the first move on Jackson even though he said otherwise, even after their breakup. Stiles was always the first to know anything, even before her parents."Then tell me something I don't know." He said as though it was an obvious solution, eating his mutant gummy worm before chasing it down with a shot. Absentmindedly, he glanced at the tv and mumbled some form of a cuss word to Chuck for being a douche before Lydia spoke.
"Um...I started my period this week!" She offered and he rolled his eyes.
"Okay, literally the first text I received yesterday morning was 'bring chocolate to school, I started my period'. What else you got?"She bit her lip, something Stiles wish she wouldn't do because despite their friendship, this girl was obviously very attractive and he'd be lying if he said he hadn't thought about her. Then again, she'd be lying if she said she hadn't thought about him either. She motioned for the bottle on the coffee table and Stiles passed it to her willingly. But the girl refused the shot glass they'd been sharing and took a swig straight from the bottle, scrunching up her nose before coughing out her next sentence.
"I may or may not be seeing this guy..." She confesses, crossing her legs over Stiles' lap while sinking further into the couch.
"Is he on the lacrosse team?" Stiles asks, throwing a gummy bear in the air before catching it in his mouth.
"His name is Drew, he doesn't go here." She quickly came to defense, knowing how protective he could be of her, knowing that if he knew Drew actually was on the lacrosse team there would be threats of broken arms if broken hearts. Because that's just the way Stiles worked."Do you meaning seeing? Or seeing?" He pushed further, pouring another shot for himself. She chuckles at his screwed up face after downing the substance, a burn in his throat.
"Seeing." She answers, stealing a handful of his gummy bears. He glared and sighed dramatically but allowed her.
He shrugged. "Okay, then what's the deal with Drew?" The name slipped like venom from his mouth, distasteful and poisonous."He's just not.... Good?" She questioned the word, cringed at her own voice.
"Like at sex?"
"No, like at math, yes at sex!" He snickered at her sarcasm.
"Then why are you still seeing him?"
"Well it's not like he's horrible. He's just... he doesn't really..." She struggled to explain. "I guess there are just certain little quirks."
Stiles cleared his throat and turned to the girl completely, giving her a look that implied for her to continue. She laughed. "Are you sure?"Stiles rolled his eyes. "NO. Lyds would you just talk to me, for gods sake we're practically the same person." She took a deep breath. Then it began.
Lydia Martin was not one to leave out details and Stiles Stilinski was not one to judge which made the whole situation about one percent more comfortable than uncomfortable. And for a moment, she had acted like Stiles; throwing her hands about as she stuttered to describe how Drew had made odd noises or touched a place he thought made her feel good but only made everything worse. He laughed when she did, this guy apparently squealing like a cheerleader, but was quick to try and understand once more when she continued.
"Then why are you still hooking up with him?" He had asked once she was done. The small smile she had managed disappeared completely as she twirled a loose thread from her robe around her index finger.
"I'm hollow." She admitted. "A person who needs love yet cannot seem to accept it. He makes me feel needed I guess."Stiles watched her eyes gloss, his heart throbbing, his best friend in pain making him hurt as well. She plucked the thread abruptly. Stiles sighed, opening his arms for the girl. she gladly took them, climbing onto his lap, her legs on either side of his as she leant into his chest. Her nose poked at the stars scattered across his neck, fingers twirling the bits of hair at his neck as she allowed herself to be held like the secretly fragile thing she was.
"I love you." She murmured, hugging him tighter and he smiled.
"I Love you too...." A tear slipped down her cheek. This boy tried everything in himself for her not to feel alone, for her to feel wanted. He held her for a while until her breathing was slow and her grip had loosened. "Are you drunk?" He whispered. She nodded into his neck and he smiled, placed a kiss against her temple. "Sleepy?" He asked. There was no response. "Lyds?" She cuddled further against him, still with no answer. With a silent chuckle, he lifted the girl into his arms and carried her through the dark and to her room.
"So nice." She mumbled as he laid her in bed and pulled the covers to her chin. "S'good Stiles. My robe?" The girl requested and he did as she said, slipping the fluffy white thing from porcelain skin and hanging it on the hook by her door.He turned the knob, a grumble sounding from the mess of pillows behind him. "Stay, please." With a sigh, Stiles trudged back over to the bed, kicked off his jeans and climbed under the comforter next to the girl. He chuckled when she immediately clung to him, her breath a little poisonous from the liquor they'd both downed earlier but he didn't mind.
