I sat on the couch and laid down, crossing my left leg over my right and trying to bob my foot in time with the music playing through my earphones. "I'll never let you steal my coffin..." I sang softly. I heard a faint sound of someone talking but it just sounded like mumbling with my music on. I took my earphones out and looked at Sam who stood behind the couch. "What did you say?" I asked.

"I won't steal your coffin. I'd prefer not to see you in one any time soon." He said and I smiled.

"Babe, it's a song by Black Veil Brides." I said. "I'd rather not be in a coffin either."

"Wow, that's surprising coming from a Goth." Leo shouted from someone else in the house and I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up."

"Anyway," Sam started and I smiled as he leaned over the couch and kissed me. "I'm taking you out on a date." I grinned. This was going to be awesome!

We walked out of the movie cinema with our fingers interlocked. A movie. A cliché date idea. I hated going to the cinema, you couldn't talk through it so what was the point? I put up with it for Sam. He seemed to enjoy the movie and he was happy. That was good enough. "You didn't enjoy that, did you? I can tell." He asked, his happiness deflating straightaway. "Did I stuff up?"

"Sam, no. It's not that, you didn't stuff up. I just hate going to movies for social things like dates. You can't talk to anyone." I said, looking up at him while we walked to the car. It was a Ford Falcon GTHO.

"What? I was told you love going to the movies..?" I stopped and stood in front of him, hands on my hips.

"Who told you that?" I asked.

"Leo." He said.

"That little..!" I grabbed Sam's hand and dragged him to the car. "Home. Now." I said as soon as we were in the car. "Hurry," I cracked my knuckles. "Someone is going to enjoy my company."

"Okay." He said slowly, starting the car and driving back to the pack. I got out of the car as soon as it stopped and hurried inside. I ran at Leo and tackled him to the ground, Dawn controlling me a bit. I put my hands on his throat, not pushing down yet.

"Did you tell Sam that I liked going to movies for dates? Huh?" I growled at him. He laughed. I was sitting on his stomach about to strangle him and all he was doing was laughing? "Is this all a joke to you?" Sebastian was laughing too. "You're such an asshole! I would never do that to you! Especially with your mate!"

"What's all this yelling about?" Sam's mum asked as she walked in the room and she gasped in shock when she saw us. "Cj?"

"Cj?" Sam asked as he walked inside. I snarled at Leo and got off, standing up.

"Next time I won't stop." I said as he stood up.

"Ah, can't wait. It's going to be fun." He said, smirking. I growled again and punched him in the stomach. He yelped and I smirked, shifting my attention to Sam's mum, Marley. She wore a frown and I shrugged, smiling sheepishly, Dawn backing off.

"You are one crazy girl." Sam's uncle, the Alpha, said. I looked to my right and he stood leaning against the wall, wearing a smile. "Impressive."

"Uh," I said, confused. I just tried to strangle Leo and it was impressive?

"You'll make a great Luna. As long as you don't try to strangle pack members." He said.

"Oh, no. That is specifically for Leo and Sebastian. No one else. Just them." I said, glaring at the both of them. They stopped laughing and I arched an eyebrow.

"But seriously, you're a good fighter. You tackled Leo who is obviously heavier than you." He said, genuinely impressed.

"I've had a lot of practise. I've lived with those two for over a year. It's been hell." I said. He chuckled and walked over to us, standing next to me.

"Mark, don't encourage her." Marley said. We both looked at her at the same time.

"Why not? She'll be a good fighter in the pack. She got angry over these two playing a joke over where your son should take her on a date. If that sets her off and makes her do this, she'll be good at helping protect the pack."

"Still, don't encourage her. She will be the Luna of the pack, she won't be going out to fight all the time." Marley said and I frowned. These two were like Leo and me, only they actually were brother and sister. Cal and I were worse. A lot worse than this. I hated fighting; actual fighting. I'd play fight Leo and Sebastian but not actually fight, where I'd have to kill someone. It wasn't me. I was still a horse. Horses were mostly flight animals.

I looked at Sam and smiled uncomfortably. Something clicked and I could feel the emotions from everyone. My wall on my gifts weakened. The emotions of anger, confusion, annoyance and slight fear swirled around the room. I needed to get away from everyone. I looked at Sam again and walked over.

"Bye." I said, walking outside, dragging Sam by the hand. It was probably disrespectful walking out on the Alpha, but I wanted to get away. We walked to the edge of the woods and I let go of his hand.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

I nodded. "The emotions in the room were just getting to me." He nodded and we walked in silence.

"Where are we going?" He asked.

"For a walk." I answered.

"At night?"

I laughed and nodded. "It's what I would have liked for a date. Just spending time together. Let's shift. Take me to your favourite spot on the pack grounds." I said. He smiled and nodded before we both shifted into our wolf forms and I followed Sam all the way to a lake. We shifted back and I looked out at the water, the moon reflecting off the glistening surface. "Wow. This is gorgeous." I said in awe. There wasn't any snow here and I was surprised the lake hadn't frozen over.

"It doesn't get cold enough here to snow or freeze the lake." Sam explained, as if reading my mind. I smiled and nodded.

"Cool." I said, still nodding. I bit the inside of my mouth and looked at Sam. I sat down and laid back, looking up at the stars. "It's beautiful out here, at night. The stars are beautiful. And the moon." I said. Sam smiled down at me then laid down next to me. I moved my head to the side so it was touching his shoulder and I closed my eyes, breathing in a steady rhythm. "It's so peaceful," I whispered.

"Yeah." He said softly. We fell silent and I listened to all the sounds that surrounded us; crickets, the water, the breeze blowing through the tree leaves and grass. A howl echoed and I smiled. My hair was stroked and I opened an eye and looked at at Sam.

"What?" I asked. He smiled and leaned down, kissing me. I smiled when he sat up again. Another howl echoed and I sat up, crossing my legs and cupping my hands to my mouth and howling, like I did when I was on the mountain. I got several howls back and I laughed quietly. "I may have been a horse up until recently but see, I can speak wolf!"

Sam chuckled and kissed me again. "God I love you, Cj." He said. I blushed and looked down at my legs.

"I love you too." I said, looking up at him again. He smiled at me and I laughed when there were more howls. "You try." He smirked and shifted, howling in his wolf form. There was a chorus of howls of different pitches and I shook my head, laughing. "No, that's cheating."

His tongue lolled out of his mouth as he sat in front of me, watching my every move. I arched an eyebrow and straightened my legs out, one on each side of Sam since he was sitting so close. I sighed and fell back, staring at the stars again. Sam stood above me and looked down at me. "Drool on me and I push you in the lake." I threatened. His snout was inches about my face. I smiled and raked my fingers through his brown pelt. He licked my cheek and I laughed, kissing his little black nose. "Shift back so I'm not making out with a wolf. Even though I technically am... You know what I mean." He shifted back and his lips crashed into mine.
