Competiton Day {Part One}

Luiza POV

After a short night of sleep, I went downstairs to see my mom and dad up and busy. My mom was on the phone making sure the stylist, makeup artist and driver was in place and on schedule, while my dad was making breakfast. My favourite: waffles, eggs,bacon and suryop and a glass of orange juice.It tasted delicious but I didn't eat much, I was not that hungry.

I walked upstairs and got dressed. I wore a black and white skirt with a blue crop top and a black jacket and wore my white sneakers. I checked my phone and saw a bunch of messages from Alehandro and Maria. Like oh jeez just leave me alone. I ignored all of the messages and just went downstairs to meet everyone my mom hired. I hugged her and went to the car and off we go. It was a 30 minute drive and I slept all the way there.

We finally arrived and everyone came out the limo. I stayed back with my parents at the car and we were just talking. They were giving me the usual prep talk; 'Do your best' 'We are proud of you' 'We love you' ect.

After that I went upstairs and just walked around. I was kinda bored and had nothing to do and there was like 5 hours till show time. During the time I was being bored I bumped into one of the last people I wanted to see. Maria. She looked so happy to see me and I do not know why.

"Hey Luiza!"

"Uh hi Maria"

"Luiza you didn't reply to any of my text,we need to talk"

"Uh sure"

and just then Alehandro walks by OH GREAT

"Hey Luiz"

"Please don't call me that"

"We need to talk, you never answered my calls nor my texts"

"Can we talk after the competition guys I'm really not in the mood."

"Sure Luiza after the competition" they both said.

I went straight to hair and makeup after. Three hours left till the show and I'm getting nervous. After hair and makeup I went to costumes. The first dance was the group dance. Which was 'Empire'.

I was one of the three dancers who had special parts in the dance so I had a totally different costume from the rest of the dancers.. It was a tight fitted black top with red intricit designs on it. The skirt was short and black and puffy. It was covered with a beautiful lace design. The shoes were just normal black jazz shoes. Hair and makeup done, costume amazing just to rehearse it one last time with everyone before the show starts.

One and a half hours till the show starts and the group rehearsal just started.We are supposed to only rehearse the dance 3 times.

The first time to test how the costumes go with the dance. Second time to correct all the mistakes, and lastly to make sure everything was perfect.

30 MINTUES TILL SHOW TIME.

All the dancers were now backstage just talking and stretching. Whereas for me, I was walking aroung in circles like a freak, up down left right. All my nerves were kicking in.Why am I so nervous? Chillax Luiza you got this.

5 MORE MINUTES TILL SHOW TIME.

'Breathe Luiza Breathe' you got this . Okay I got this. I may sound crazy talking to myself but it wroks.

Okay everyone welcome to the 45th annual dance scholoarship competition. For the past days we started off with 60 dancers, now its down to the final 10.

Now we present the top 10 performing there group dance 'EMPIRE'

Luiza POV

All the dancers went on stage and took there places. As soon as I hit that stage all my nerves went away. This was my time to shine.The music started and everyone started dancing, the solo parts were coming up soon. First it was Maria's solo. She danced amazing until the last part where I think she may have injured herself again considering she injured her knee already. I hope she's okay.

Second was Ella. She was a mess. She messed up her turns, fell on her jumps. I think she let the nerves get to he rbut I shouldn't be talking I was freaking out backstage.

Third was me. I closed off the dance. I hit all my turns, jumps and my acro. With that the dance was finished. I felt amazing.We got standing ovations from everyone even the judges. Next will be solos I really hope I hit my routine.
