Just Another Fangirl

Chapter Seven

I arrived at Jack G's house at 7 o'clock. Mahogany, Jack J, Mathew, Marie, Taylor, and Jack G's girlfriend had already arrived. I greeted the group and introduced myself to Jack's girlfriend, Amelia. She seemed very nice.

All of our group of friends, aside from Marie and I, were part of the popular internet group, MAGCON. I had met Cameron years ago, before MAGCON. Later on, he joined and we all got along.

The sound of the door opening snapped me out of my daydreaming. I looked up, and it was Shawn and Cameron. "Great, we're all here!" Mahogany said. We all talked for a while and made our way to the pool in the backyard. Marie and I jumped in and laughed.

We watched the sunset, Jack's house was a great place for it. "I have an idea. Let's play truth or dare," Mathew suggested. Everyone agreed and we began. "Ok. Marie, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Out of the whole group, who would you rather go on a date with?"

She thought for a second. "Shawn."

"Truth or dare, Anna?"

"Dare," I said. I felt brave.

"I dare you to tell Cameron how you really feel." Just great. She was trying to help things between us, but it wasn't going to work. "You guys can go in the house to talk."

I stood up and walked to the house behind Cameron. What kind of dare is that? This was going to be so awkward. "Uh okay. So, I feel like you are a complete jerk. That's pretty much it."

"I told you I'm sorry. Now it's you ignoring me," he said. His voice sounded sad. A pang of guilt hit me. I turned to face him. I couldn't think of anything to do, so I just stared at him like an idiot. He leaned in, and I don't know what was going through my head, but so did I.

"I love you a lot and I'm sorry," he said, coming closer.

I backed away. "You have a girlfriend," I said, too harshly.

I wanted to tell him that I loved him too, that I have since 8th grade. But I didn't.

Last night was fun. Other than that awful dare, we all had a great time.

I reached over to grab my phone off the nightstand. I had an Instagram direct message from Ariel. Oh lord. I opened it and it said:

"Cameron broke up with me yesterday, and I know it's all your fault. He always talked about you. I'm getting you back for this, and no one's going to be able to help you out on this one."

I rolled my eyes and called Cameron. "Anna?" he asked.

"Look, I don't know what you told Ariel about me, but she says that you talked about me all the time. And now she's going to get back at me, for something that I didn't do. So you better fix this."

He hesitated before answering. "Can I come over after school tomorrow?"

"Sure, whatever," I said hanging up.
