Nori had not gotten better in the next few days. He was nearly like a zombie in all honesty. At least that's what the dark circles under his eyes said. The kid really hadn't gotten any sleep the last few nights. Most of the time, he'd go into the living room and read nearly all night, while Rylan slept. It was starting to take a toll on him. Sometimes he fell asleep on Rylan, but it was never more than an hour. It didn't help that he was working himself to death. He was ahead of all his university work, as well as the work in the lab. Nori wasn't smiling anymore either. No sarcastic remarks, or trying to jump Rylan. It was worrying the detective to no end. There didn't seem to be anything he could really do to help the kid. He tried on many occasions to pull Nori away from work long enough to eat something, taking the student to his favorite restaurants. Today Marshall James' parents were supposed to come in for questioning. Well at least the mother. Rylan would be the one to talk to her. He just hoped Nori wouldn't see her here.

Soon enough Jade came into the offices, looking exhausted. It was obvious she had been crying very recently. Unfortunately Nori did end up seeing her, but stayed out of sight. It was better that way. Or at least that's what the student would choose to believe. He watched Rylan walk out and great the woman, in a very professional manor. It was strange to see him like that. The detective seemed cold almost. Such a contrast to his warm, puppy dog personality. For some reason they both seemed to fit him. Nori kind of wondered which one was the real Rylan.

"Alright Mrs. James, if there is anything else you can remember that will help us, please call me." Rylan said as he handed the woman his card.

Jade took it wondering if he could see that she was about to fall apart any second. "O-Of course. Um... When will I be able to bury my son?"

"I will find that information for you right now." Rylan said, excusing himself to find someone who might actually know.

Soon Jade was left alone in the somewhat bland office. She held her face in her hands, willing herself not to cry again. The woman couldn't take much more of this, she felt dead. Like everything she ever cared about was torn away from her. She just wanted to go home and see what was left of her family, instead of these cops who probably didn't care a thing about her son. They had their families safe and sound, they had no reason to care. Jade sighed and looked over the mess that was detective Rylan's desk. It showed he'd been hard at whatever he was doing there. Including what seemed to be pictures, pushed under the keyboard of the computer. It was kind of nice, those types of things made people human. She lifted up the keyboard just to take a peek, but ended up in a state of shock.... Those pictures were of him and Nori... Pictures of them hanging all over each other, smiling. They looked so happy. This wasn't right. Nori had been in love with Marshall. Wasn't this conflict of interest? These people weren't going to do anything to find the person who killed her son!

At that moment, Rylan walked back into the office, carrying a file. "Mrs. James, is something wrong?"

He was feigning innocence. That much Jade knew. She simply stood up and without a word, and slapped Rylan across the face so hard, he slightly stumbled. "You're not even going to try to find out what happened to my son! You don't care! Why would you when you're with his whore of an ex!?"

Rylan was completely dumbstruck, as the woman ran out of the room.
"What the hell happened?" Rick nearly shouted coming into the room.

"...I don't know..."

Jade was rushing through the halls, trying to keep from bursting into tears. At least until she made it to the car. Unfortunately she was lost, somewhere near the labs... Maybe?

"Jade are you ok?" Someone called out to her.

The woman stopped dead in her tracks. "You.... You're the reason aren't you?" She almost whispered.
