The crazy part is, there was so much familiarity in what Jack said. Like I had experience similar to the dove and the crow. The love and hatred. The different symbols they stand for.
The dark and cold crow, tough and hard. The dove, pure of soul and warm hearted. The correlation with the two was slim, but their hearts found a home in eachothers. Sitting here by myself, left me with my thoughts. Giving me the opportunity to recreate something I never knew of. Still I am oblivious and confused to what he was trying to confess.

All I know right now is, I'm the dove and Jack is the crow

"Do you guys think you can get me a laptop?" I asked the guards who stood by my door.

"Sure"

They came back moments later, a laptop in hand.

I went to Google. Typing in the dove and the crow.

Instantly, images of crows and doves came up but it wasn't what I was looking for. I retyped in 'the dove and the crow story'

Many websites featuring the story popped up.

Soul fusing is all that came up. Clicking the website I waited for results.

I started to read the articles.

"Soul fusing the combining of a dove and a crow to contain the two. What is it? The dove, also known as the angel, the crow, also known as the demon. The two are not built for eachother. Natural born rivals. One pure and clean soul versus a dark and evil one. They both are very rare and even thought to not exist. The crows are usually in power, mostly rulers or dictators. The demons are always trying to find an angel to pair to keep alive. Because they are natural enemies, they aren't good for eachother. Angels may seem weak and too nice, but hold way more power than a demon ever will. Only one pair will ever be together, no matter the odds.

Traits:

Crows (demons); hot skin, maroon or deep red eyes, immensely strong. Persuasive. Skin will often burn or hurt in contact with an angel. Others unknown

Doves (angels); control over emotions, rain, strong minded, strong physically, only one who can defeat demons. Skin will often burn or hurt when in contact with demons. Mind sync. Others unknown

It didn't make sense to me, was I an angel? Was I the angel Drake was speaking of? Was I the only hope against the demons and their dictatorship? And here I was paired and sent up to be wed with Jack. Him and his family caused so much turmoil and grief.

"What are you doing?" Drake asked, I closed the computer quickly, gasping at his presence.

"Drake, you scared me" I stuttered.

"Jack wants your company down in his Chambers"

I nodded and stood up, sliding my shoes on.

"Tell me Genevieve, what exactly you were really looking at?" Drake asked.

"Um, nothing much really. Just um, just pictures of the world before the war you know" I covered.

"Ah, I understand your curiosity about a time before yours. I can tell you if you'd like?" Drake asked.

I nodded, letting out a silent breath of relief. But still puzzled on how he could tell me about a time that happened nearly four hundred years ago.

"We lived under nobody's rule. We elected presidents, our money system was way more versatile. Social classes existed but weren't as prominent and used as they are now. There were different countries, different regions where there were different people. Every country had their own president, their own laws. But we humans were a dying race. Pollution, war, drugs, mishaps, disaster. Way too many of it happening. They were killing the world quickly and seen no danger in their foolish ways of living. Humans lived for the love of money, greed. Letting people die whilst taking their money. Making people pay for treatments for a disease they had already cured. So after the economic collapse and the world War. We took this opportunity to take over. To change things back to a more old rustic way, hoping maybe. It would be easier. It is actually. No more poverty, no more unlawful or cruel deaths" Drake told as we continued to walk.
