Mea let Tom in right when he got to his girlfriend's apartment. He hated seeing her so upset and just knowing that she lost her record deal didn't help. "Where?" was all he got out before she directed him to Bea's bedroom closet. He ran into there and hit his face flat into the door when he failed to open the locked door. Rubbing his nose he knocked on the door. "Bea babe, open up," he called out hearing the click of the lock being opened.

He walked in to see his girlfriend with red puffy eyes and tears streaming down her face. Her phone was lying on the floor with the email open letting him catch a glimpse of the words that just ruined her life. He sighed and sat down before pulling her into his lap letting her sob onto his shoulder. He stroked her hair as he started to rock back and forth.

The pain he felt was unbearable. He never wanted to see her this broken ever again. After what felt like an hour Bea's sobs finally quieted down. "I think I am good now." Her voice was low and rough from the burns and her crying. It hurt her to speak in every way. Tom pressed a lingering kiss to her head before pulling back.

"Are you sure babe? I have another dry shoulder for you to cry on." And like he hoped he got a laugh from her. He rubbed her shoulders as the silence overlapped them again. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked finally breaking the defining silence.

She shook her head and pulled away from him. Instantly his thumbs found his way to her puffy cheeks and wiped away the salty tears. "I just," she paused coughing slightly from the sting in her throat. "I don't understand. When I emailed them and told them what happened they were so understanding and now I just lost my record deal," she told him hiccupping at the end.

He turned her head so she was looking at him and not at the wall behind him. "Hey, you have your whole life ahead of you yet. Your voice chords will heal. Your Bea fucking Renner, the strongest girl I know. You also have an incredible acting talent as well babe. This is just a minor set back for a bigger plan," he whispered into her ear. A small smile tugged up at her lips, but before she could say anything back she heard a very familiar booming voice.

"Where the fuck is my daughter?

"John! Mea is here!"

"She is old enough to hear a swear word, Val."

Bea grabbed Tom's hand and pulled him out of the closet. God knows what her father would do if he found the both of them in there. She pulled the reluctant boy towards the living room only letting go to throw herself into her father's waiting arms. "Oh baby," her mother cooed hugging her once her father let go of her.

John narrowed his eyes at the fidgeting boy as Mea tried to keep her laughter in. "Who the fuck is this?" he asked pointing towards the now terrified boy. "I would like to know why he is in here. Can I punch him?" he asked fully aware of who the boy might be.

"No!" Bea's voice cracked high making everyone jump. "He's my boyfriend dad, Tom meet my father. Father, meet Tom," she said introducing the two finally. The three women watched as John stalked like a lion over to Tom and shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you, sir," Tom stammered out suddenly really scared of the man towering over him. He wanted to meet her parents, just not like this. He also wished that they knew about the two of them beforehand. Not the serest two of them.

John started to chuckle at the nervous boy. "Sir? Please, that makes me feel old!" he chuckled out making Bea look at her father funny.

"Dad, your like 50?"

"Shhh."

Bea looked at her mother. "You married a 50-year-old child, mom," she informed him thankful for John. She loved her father and wouldn't have it any other way. Even if he wasn't her real father. Her real father, Lee Renner and her mother hooked up with in a drunken night right before her mom met John. John has taken care of her ever since. Lee never made contact with the girl either.

Valerie wrapped an arm around her daughter. "Yeah I did. Wait, you're not supposed to be talking," she suddenly remembered as the four people looked at the now semi-happy girl. Before the group could say anything they were stunned by what came out of her mouth.

"I got to go, I left the cat on!"

Tom was the first one to recover. "Bea you don't even have a cat!" he called back before running to where the girl had run to hid too. John and Valerie watched with happy smiles. They haven't seen her happy since Trent and they feel like Tom can make her really happy. John turned to Mea.

"When she turns her cat off tell Bea that I approve."
