Best Friends

Chapter 9

"Q & A?" Nash asked the audience.
I was standing next to Matt on stage. Holding his hand.
The crowd was confused.
Shawn had tweeted out last night.
"Single✌️"
So the crowd knew we broke up...but didn't know all the details.
"You in the green!" Carter said pointing.
"This one is for Sam. Why did you and Shawn break up?" She looked like she was sad that we broke up. Me too babe. Me too.
"We're better just friends." The words stung.
I hated that we were just friends. But I'm starting to really like Matt.
"Yeah, best friends!" Shawn came over and picked me up bridal style.
My stomach turned inside out.
"Awww" the crowd yelled.

"Put me down!" I screamed. I was ticked.
He ignores me this morning...but in front of the fans he's the sweetest guy in the world.

"Okay, okay." He sat me down. I immediately went back to Matt and leaned my head on his shoulder.

"Sam, will you be my girlfriend?" Matt asked.
We were on a walk after Magcon.
Shawn had made it clear that he didn't like me.
I wasn't going to keep pushing it on him and cry about it.
I was ready to move on.
"Yes. Finally." I smiled and gave him a hug.
Matt & I still hadn't had our first kiss. But I wanted to take it slow anyway.
We held hands and walked back to the hotel.

We were meeting the guys in the ice cream shop in our hotel.
We walked in hand & hand.
I immediately saw Shawn. He looked at me like he was a lost puppy without a family.
I walked over and got my ice cream and then sat down next to Matt & Nash.
Shawn was right across from me.
"So...." I tried to break the silence.
"So....you guys are a thing now?" Shawn asked playing with his ice cream.
"Yep. What about you? You talking to anyone?" I shot back.
"Hannah." He looked up from his ice cream to see my reaction.

I felt like I had been stabbed in my stomach. I felt like Shawn & I's friendship went down the drain. Nothing was left of it. Hannah was someone that we always hated and talked about it. And he left me for HER?!?! ARGH!!

"Matt, I'm not hungry anymore. I'm going to go back to the room." I got up and left.
Shawn was talking to Hannah. Wow.
Just wow.
