I back away too let her mom say goodbye. But that's not what happened. Instead I see everyone reach out for each others hand. My dad put his on my shoulder. A tear roled down my cheek and landed right on hers.
Suddenly green and white swirls before my eye. A wisp of blue and a touch of purple. Then all at once it's gone.
"I have a secret. It's not a crush secret it's a big deal secret." I hear someone says. I look down. Lizzy has the biggest smile on her face.
"Lizzy!" I grab her in a hug and hold on hoping it's not just my imagination.
"I think you brought me back from the dead." she whispers into my ear as we hug. I automatically look at April. She is too busy obsessing over her still alive sister to notice me look at her.
Her family all hug her the two little boys sit at the foot of her bed. That's when April looks back at me. I go over to her and give her a hug.
"Maybe it does work that way." I wisper before we pull apart. She smiles at me and mouths a thank you.
Then I go sit next to max in the waiting area so the doctors can give their explanation on what happened but everyone in that room knew what happened. My tear of magic brought my best friend back.

"Thank you." I tell max.
"What for?" he asks
"I saw your magic in that swirl. You helped me save her."
"That was all you angel." he claims.
"For a moment all i saw was green and white swirls and then blue came in then purple."
"That wasn't me. I swear."
"Then who could it be."
"I don't know."
"yea. ok."

Its is like 6am and everyone is tired but me so they all go home and leave me and Lizzy alone.
"Angel?" she asks
"Yea. Its me." I hold her hand. She doesn't talk for a while so I sit back and check my phone.
A text from max: tell me if anything changes.
Then I check Lizzys phone
A email from her dad: your mom told me what happened. I am so glad you are ok. I wish i could come home and see you.
Love you, dad

About an hour after a doctor came into check on her she woke up.
"Hi. How are you feeling."
"Like I just hit my head on the floor of my kitchen and then was rushed into surgery where I nearly died." she states.
I can't help but giggle. Looks like she still has her sense of humor. I smile and look down at my best friend. Her hair still a little curly from the night before.
"What was your big deal secret."
"I am alive."
I hug her. When we part a doctor came in her room.
"Hi I am doctor Roberts but you can call me Katie. I am glad to see you doing better." she sits at the foot of the bad as i sit back down. "I am here to give you a neuro exam. Follow the pen with your eyes. Good. Squeeze my fingers as hard as you can. Wow you are strong. Alright well you seem good as new. The head of neurosurgery will come in and talk to you later but you seem as though nothing happened." she finishes. smiles. and leaves. Lizzy and i looked at each other. i busted into laughter. Lizzy soon joined me.
"So does that mean you will get to join us when we kick some butt?" I manage between my giggles.
"I would love too." she smiles and grabs my hand. "I heard what you said." she states seriously.
"When?"
"While I was... dead I guess."
"oh...I...uh..."
"I am so glad you trust me. You are my best friend and I am happy I get to learn about your world or our world together." she grabs my hand.

"Oh you got a email from your dad." I say picking up her phone and handing it to her.
"Thanks. Alright so our stuff, check. Dad stuff, check. So now where is my family?" She asks putting her phone back on the nightstand.
"We are right here." the oldest Luke says as Sam and Nathan both run up and attack her in a hug.
"Hey guys. It's so good to see you." Lizzy says hugging back.
"I can't believe you are so ok already." April said sitting down next to me.
"It's like magic." Mia says from the doorway. I look at everyone as we all fight not to bubble over with laughter. Of course that doesn't work out so well.

Like six doctors came in. I am guessing they are interns because they all look terrified."Elizabeth Stevens." one says. "day one post brain surgery. rehabilitating amazingly."
"Mrs Stevens living from a medical phenomenon Lazarus syndrome." another said.
"Lazarus syndrome. that's what they came up with." i whispered into Lizzys ear.
"So Elizabeth, you are doing extremely well. Keep it up and you can go home soon." said they only one in dark blue scrubs said.
"Awesome. Anything else?" Lizzy said taking her littlest sister and putting her on her lap.
"Yea I would like to get a mri scan to see what's going on inside that brain of yours and then we can get you walking." The one in dark blue said.
"Well I can check off the second one." She stands up and walks across the room with little sophia on her hip. she twirls and dose a little curtsy.
"Alright so you look 100 percent normal to me." One says.
"Yea she does." Luke says sitting in the chair I just got out of.
