1 More Week

One week from today I will start school at Lucy middle school. The school was named after my mom's childhood best friend. One of the only two elementary schools is named David elementary after my dad, the other one is named Sara elementary school after my aunt. Then the high school is amber high after my mom. Anyway. I am starting school there and we just got my schedule:

first period: Drama: cafeteria: mrs klemz

second period: math: 204: mrs bridges

third period: english: 101 :mrs woods

fourth period: science/potions: mr hess: 211

first lunch: for the first semester i have first lunch with chase, max, and lizzy.

fifth period: a history: mrs stephan: 205
B I would have pe but because I am doing flying 101 I get to be a part time ta
sixth period: flying 101: gym: mr herz

Great I get flying 101 with 6th grade fairies and max get spell casting 300. Even Lizzy isn't with 6th graders. I mean she's with 7th graders but still.

My dad decided that I should get all new school supplies. So with the suggested list that like all teachers give, me and Lizzy got new backpacks and pencils and pens and notebooks and stuff. Lizzy got a simple and cute backpack. Purple with teal spots. I got a floral design on mine. Basic pens and pencils. We each got 5 different colored notebooks.

We also went to get new school clothes. We got more this year because I got ride of a lot of stupid shirts that I hated. me and lizzy spent all day buying me basicly a new wardrobe. Which we then went and cut slits out for my wings. It was a good day.

I haven't been crowded by a whole lot of paparazzi or anything so it surprised me then two men equipped with cameras and a woman with a microphone knocked on my front door the day after our shopping trip. I don't remember much of yesterday. I don't think I even ate dinner. I constantly was asked questions.

"How do you sleep?" "How did you keep it a secret so long?" "Do you shead?" "How big are they?" "How long have you been flying?" blah...blah...blah. I would have rather spend the day with max but it's ok because tonight me and Max and Lizzy and chase are going to a end of summer bonfire by the lake at Max and Chases friends house. I am so excited. At around four Lizzy comes over with a few of her options and we pick out what we are going to wear. Liz goes with a pink lace top and dark blue shorts with matching flip-flops and bracelets. We decided on a floral top and black skirt for me. I wear my locket with my parents and aunt on one side and my three of my favorite people on the other. Max, Liz and Chase. It's a small charm I keep on me all the time. I French braid her sun lightened brown hair leaving my down. My red dyed hair reaches my hip.

Max and Chase are at the door and we are gone by 6. We get there and you can hear the music outside the house. The smell of burning wood come from the back along with splashing and laughing. No one notices me. I am just another girl here. The front door is open and we walk inside. No one cares. I tuck my wings a little to get through the crowd. Chase found Luke and introduced us.

"It's so nice to meet you." He basically shouts to be heard over the noise of what looks to be like any other teenage party. But when you look closely, you can see the pointed ears and teeth from the elves and vampires.

"You too. Thanks for letting us come." Lizzy says as we step outside.

"You didn't tell me the rumors were true." He says as we head to the barbecue food.

"What rumors?" I ask

"That max of all people ended up with you." He smiles nudging him.

"Oh cause the wing thing." Lizzy says nodding at me.

"No, because of the fact that she is not a troll."

"That was one date!" Max complains picking up a fruit of some sort.

"Anyway. Have fun. Eat what you want. Do what you want. This is the last day of freedom!" He yells the last part and everyone screams in excitement.

Max and chase break off to talk to old friends. We wade into the water still fully dressed. I go up to mid shin but Lizzy continues. She smiles at me. She knows I can't swim. I watch her meet max and chase out there.

I stand in silence for a bit. Watching the party happen in front of me. Then Luke I think his name was comes up behind me. "Come on. your mom is looking at you from the after life and thinking that you knucklehead should have fun for once in your life. Go on take a risk."

"I have had enough risk for a lifetime." I say.

"but look at where it got you and the friends you have because of it." Luke gestures out to where Max, Liz and Chase are talking.

"well Max and Lizzy both just found out by figuring it out and Chase was the first person I walked up to like this." I explain.

"Who are you dating?" he asks. I nod. "Who is your very best friend?" I nod again. "and who else is one of your best friends?"

"Ok. I get it. I took a risk. I made the best mistake of my life. I get it." I look at him and smile. I guess one of the scariest things to happen to me was one of the best things. I look to where three of my favorite people are splashing each other. Can you believe it. My bestfriends consists of two wizards and a half fairy. and I wouldn't change that for the world.
