~~Marie's pov~~

I was sitting with my best friend and crush Cedric Diggory in the Hufflepuff Common room. I was a Ravenclaw but Cedric let me in to help him out.

We were trying to work out what to do for the second task. "So it's obviously in the black lake." I said. "What else did it say?"

"An hour you will have to seek." Replied Cedric. "Obvious again but how will you stay in the water for an hour." I asked. "Bubble charm, and we have to look for something. The egg said it was what we hold dearest to us."

"Ok so are you all good for tomorrow then?" I asked. "Yeah" He replied "A little nervous but I'll be fine." I smiled. There was a comfortable silence for a while until I broke it.

"So how are things with you and Cho?" Cedric took Cho to the yule ball at christmas he sorta had a thing for her. It hurt but I supported him anyway.

"Good" He replied. 'Well that's the end of that conversation' I thought. "Well I better be of. I'll meet you in the morning before the task, ok?" I said as I stood up to leave. "Ok." He said then smiled at me.

I ruffled Cedric's hair then made my way out of the common room. On the way to Ravenclaw tower I got stopped by Professor McGonagall. "Miss Marie could you come with me please?"

"Of course Professor but if you don't mind me asking why?"

"You will see miss Marie." Professor McGonagall replied as she led me to her office. When we entered I noticed there were others there to.

There was Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley-Harry Potter's friends- and Fleur's little sister. "Excuse me Professor" Hermione began "but what are we doin-" before Hermione could finish she fainted and before I could ask anything my vision went black...

~~The next day~~

I couldn't open my eyes. Everything was dark. It felt like I was submerged in water...Wait a minute! I am in water.

I tryed screaming for help but nothing worked. Then I felt something wrap around my waist and pull me to the surface.

I gasped for air and rubbed the water out of my eyes. I looked around to see that I was in the black lake and being pulled onto a platform.

A couple towels were put over my shoulders and I looked up to see Cedric. "Cedric what happened? What about the second task?" I asked.

"You are the second task" He replied "I had to save you from the lake."

"But you had to find what you hold dearest to you. Shouldn't you be saving Cho" I asked.

"No." Cedric replied "Your what I hold dearest to me, I've had a crush on you since we met I just never got the right moment to tell you. I only went to the ball with Cho to get her of by back. She had been bothering me for months about going to the ball with her, I only said yes to get her to leave me alone."

I looked at Cedric and giggled. "I like you to Cedric." He smiled and leaned in to kiss me. It was soft and sweet. When we parted I pulled him in for a hug and whispered to him.

"Thank you."
