Chapter 25

Fortunately, when I had returned home, Dameon still wasn't back, and my dad said he wouldn't be, because supposedly he was spending the night at our friend Jared's house, but I somehow doubted it. He was probably with this girl Chelsey, from school. Her mom was staying with her grandma in the hospital, and he'd been talking about it for a month, at least.

I told Dad about going over to have dinner with the Waleshes, and he said he and Ryder would.

I was kind of excited, but kind of nervous at the same time. I couldn't stop thinking about Devyn. I hoped that it would at least get to that point, but it would probably be me giving away my hoodie. That made me laugh. He's so submissive

I stared out my bedroom window for a long time, waiting for someone to raise their blinds. It was only 2o'clock. What was I supposed to do for four and a half hours? Finally I saw a crack in Andrew's, like someone was peeking through, and I guess when he noticed me sitting in the window sill, he slowly raised them.

I just stared at him, and I was at the beach all over again. The thoughts..He's so beautiful, and sad.. He looked back, and then he went out of frame for a long time, but I didn't see him go through the door. He must have been going through his stuff. Eventually, he came back with a white board and a marker. I leaned over to my dresser, almost falling, and grabbed my notebook and a sharpie.

"Hey~" He wrote. His hand writing was so lovely.

"What a view, am I right?" I wrote sloppily.

"Mm, yes. At least from my end." He doodled a winkie face beside it, too. I laughed, but it was also kind of sad at the same time. He was only half wrong.

I didn't want to waste up a million pages of my spiral, so I opened the window and said, "It goes both ways." He blushed.

He raised his window too. "I was really excited when I found out I was moving here, but..."

"But what?"

"You're the only person I know, and besides, it's not like you'd ever talk to me at school, anyway."

"What do you mean?" But I already knew.

"You've got to be kidding me, Marcus. You're the star football player, the hotshot, and I'm just that long haired guy that does ballet."

"Hey, Bella does ballet, and I happen to know that it takes a lot of strength to do that."

"You're not wrong," he defended, "but I just don't think you understand."

"I do, I do understand. I just don't care."

"People like you make fun of people like me, that's just the way the world works."

"Well, maybe I don't want to be like the rest of the world."

"You're really something else, Marcus."

"You and me both."
