Candy?

I awoke to booming laughter that seemed to be coming from everywhere. Whoever it was coming from sounded insane. Anyone else would have soiled their pants after hearing it, but instead of scaring me, it annoyed me greatly. I just wanted to get some sleep. Will I ever have another normal morning, or is that too much to ask?

Surprisingly, the laughter started to get closer. Within a minute, the source of the laughter was within a very close proximity of me. Then, to my left, a tall figure stepped out from behind a large tree. He was a tall, black and white clown with a wide sneer on his face. He looked like like a normal circus clown who had all the color drained out of him. "Want some candy?" he said.

"You must be Laughing Jack?" I said to him.

He stopped laughing and looked at me for a second before saying "Call me LJ. You probably already concluded that Slendyman sent me. *maniacal laugh* Here's how this is going to work: You're going to hide... and I'm going to find you. I find you... you die. Got it?"

After a second of more insane laughing, I replied "Seems simple enough. How long will it be before you give up?"

LJ tilted his head back and laughed even harder than before, then paused long enough to look me dead in the eyes and say "Run". I didn't hesitate before dashing off into the forest. I raced through the trees, trying to get away from the laughter that was still booming all around me. It never stopped, and never got any quieter. I ran until my feet couldn't carry me any farther. I stopped and looked around. There was nothing but trees, bushes, grass, and dirt. There was nowhere to hide to where he wouldn't be able to see me. I crouched down in some tall bushes beside me, but I knew anyone would be able to spot me easily. I closed my eyes, curled up in a ball, and wished I could just disappear.

All of a sudden, I felt myself change. I can't explain to you how, but it was an odd feeling I had never felt before. I opened my eyes to a different view than what I had been seeing before I closed my eyes. I was... shorter. A LOT shorter. I looked down, and to my surprise, see not my own body, but a cat's body. I looked like a normal house cat with grey fur with black streaks. I walked in a few circles, observing and getting used to this new body, but stopped dead in my tracks when the laughing paused momentarily and Laughing Jack said from somewhere nearby "I think I'm getting closer!".

As the laughing continued again, I crouched down low and peered through a small hole in the bushes. After a second of seeing nothing, I watched as LJ appeared from behind a tree not too far away from my hiding spot. He quickly walked in my direction as I held my breath. My tail twitched slightly and rustled the leaves on the ground under me. Laughing Jack stopped abruptly and paused, listening intently. I mustered up all my willpower and concentrated on not making the slightest sound. After what felt like an eternity, he slowly started back up laughing again and continued searching through the forest.

All of a sudden, an overpowering drowsiness came upon me and I quickly, against my will, fell fast asleep.
