(New Chapter! Hope you enjoy!) So today was the day of the Olivier awards. I woke up early, took a longer shower than usual, and spent 10 minutes washing my face. Let's just say I was a bit nervous. I had never performed at an awards show. Plus it's a bigger audience than I've ever had! And it's live. I was walking downstairs in my Matilda top and sweatpants when I bumped into Joshy. "Sorry!" He says. "It's fine!" I say and keep walking downstairs. I go to the table and get some Cocoa Pops. "Excited?" Joshua (Colley, because I call Joshua Mochaels Joshy) asks. "Yeah, I guess." "Just like West End Live!" Nathan says. I smile at the thought of West End Live. It was definitely one of my favourite Billy experiences. As we eat we talk about different memories we had from Billy. I remember once Joshy was playing Cats and Ben and I hate Cats so we were pretty much BEGGING him to stop playing 'Memory'. Also the Pokemon battles we have backstage. We are app hoping that we win the Audience Award but Phantom, Wicked, and Les Mis are what we're up against so we don't stand a chance. We all get into the Billy Van and play Newsies. "AINT IT A FINE LIFE CARRYING THE BANNER!" We all yell while driving to Convent Gardens. Then the song that everyone loves came on right when we got there so we were parked singing "SANTA FE MY OLD FRIEND I CANT SPEND MY WHOLE LIFE DREAMING." It was quite fun. Then we got out while it was pouring (then again what do you expect, it's England) and I got soaked and so did my Billy hoodie. So yeah, luckily I had no makeup on. We all danced (or just me and Nat) to the backstage and Brodie, Nathan, and I had sound check. During spud check I may or may not have been singing Popular while people were gathering around. I wa Galinda and I pretended that Brodie was Elphie. And Nathan was just mocking me. Nathan said after we were backstage again during while I was singing Popular people were filming me. It'll probably be on YouTube with the title 'Soaking Wet Kids Perform Popular at Olivier Sound Check' in the next few days. We got into our costumes and they dried our hair. Then we played Pokemon with Anna Louise Knight (Matilda). She told me when she saw me she loved my Lavender and Debbie and I told her I adored her Matilda. She was on my team and we won three times and the boys only won once. Then it was her turn to go on. "Break a leg!" Nathan, Brodie, and I whisper as she gives us a thumbs up and gets on stage. After she gets off and comes bam we applaud really loudly as does the audience. Then it was our turn. We got on and started the scene, then we went into Express etc. After we finished we were out of breath. The audience was clapping quite loudly. We go backstage and there's Anna Louise (in a nicer dress now) clapping. We all get into nicer dresses, I wear the same navy blue dress I wore to my second West End Open Mic night and have my hair in a bun. Then it's time to announce the Audience Award. We don't even think for a second we're going to win but Anna-Lousie tells us she voted for us. I laugh "Thanks but come on we're going against Wicked, we don't stand a chance." "I don't know you'll just have to wait and see I guess." She replies "And the winner is... BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL. Anna-Louise grins "I told you so." "Whatever." I say hugging her and going onstage with Brodie and Nathan along with some of the Creative members. They speak first and then we speak. "I don't know how we won, we were up against three of the most iconic musicals in the world! But I mean, thank you so much for everything!" I say and since I'm the last one to speak we all walk off. (Sorry this was short. Just wanted to write about the Olivier awards :) Next chapter will be about Little Shop so if you don't know about it you should look it up, I think there maybe a bootleg on YouTube. So yeah :) May or may not update tomorrow :) you'll just have to wait and see. ~Ellie)
