I stand there, gaping at the fence that has kept me from the outside world. I knew that we have been walking for hours on end but the fence is almost 30 miles from dauntless. It would usually take at least eight ours to make it out here on foot. And that's on a good day, but judging from from the light I see pouring over the eastern horizon it's probably about 6 O'clock.

I glance at Tobias, his eyes still foggy from our encounter, then look at the silouthette of Uriah pacing back and forth in front of a small black shack. The look of it is similar to the one Peter was slumped against.

Peter. I turn swiftly, catching Tobias off guard, and scan behind me looking for Peter. I see him, face white as snow; walking past now with down cast eyes at his feet moving slow and choppy.

I hear tobias scoff behind me when I move to follow behind Peter. Not a hostile sound really but almost, Smug? I look back at him and know however small I am, my look shuts his mouth.

Then we all walk single file, Peter now in front of me walking to a now greatly irritated Uriah as we finally reach the fence.

I feel Tobias' eyes watching me and whether they're filled with anger or love I don't care at the moment and I keep my eyes trained on the floor.

"Jesus, you couldn't have your little 'reunion' later?" Uriah's staring at me and Tobias angry yet conscious of the tension in the air, surrounding our little trio.

"Nevermind, we got to go, Christina should be here soon."

"Christina?" I ask my voice sounding allay, I never even thought of her till know, and guilt fills my body at my selfishness.

I turn and look at Tobias and he's smiling like he knew she was coming all along, when it's possible he did. I smile despite myself.

"Yeah, after Evelyn took the factionless and other faction members to the "Meeting" Christina came looking for you. When she didn't find you in his room she came to me and she knew that Evelyn left it up to Four to convince you to comply with her," I see Uriah's eyes drift to me and Tobias some hidden emotion flashing across his face but gone to quickly to be identified. "Anyways, she told me that Evelyn left, taking the people the would happily serve her and let them decide what to do about the factions, the laws, and you"

"Me?" I ask taken off guard.

"Yeah you, you started this revolution Tris, whether intentional or not. Your name, your last name that is, started something in these people. They're curious now, and Evelyn is smart enough to know that it's dangerous. Seeing as they don't know what Edith meant in her video they want to find out what she meant and hearing your last name name...well they put it to a face, your face. Now they're waiting for you to stand up and do something about it, everyone is."

My thoughts all jumble together and It takes a moment to respond. Me? A revolutionary leader? How can they even think that? I'm me.

I'm impulsive, though I wont admit that to save my life.

I look at the faces around me, noticing what I never saw before. They view me as a type of leader, no matter what I've done, my actions and thoughts have gotten me this far and they've come to see that. Still, why cant I see what seems to be so blantlily obvious?

"Why me?' Is the only thing I say, the only thing I can say and it sounds cliche even to me.

"Why you? Well your Divergent for starters But not just that. Tori told us, and by us I mean Christina, Zeke, Shauna, Peter and I" I glance back to see Peter's eyes locked on mine showing no emotion. "Yeah even him, anyways, she told us that you had apttitude for Eurdite, Dauntless, and Abnegation. I only have two, same with everyone else. Your divergence is stronger, that makes you somehow stronger, a weapon of sorts. Where we can still be controlled in some cases you never can be. It's like an immunity of sorts . And if I'm not mistaken your actions gave you the spot at the top of our class, you've survived multiple simulations that have killed everyone else who tried, and hell you've endured worse. You've also managed to bypass your own execution."

When he says the word "execution" I can't help but glance at Peter, only to find his eyes on me, watching me for who knows how long. I feel Tobias tense beside me probably remembering that day.

It was hard for both of us.

Before I can respond to Uriah's claims a voice interrupts, "So eloquently put, but I can't believe you're telling 'em without me."

I fling around to see Christina walk up to us, her eyes are rimmed red. She has blood on her pantleg but I cant see any noticeable limp, it must not be hers. Before I can control myself I rush towards her, at the exact same time she comes forward as well and we collide, gripping each other in a hug so crushing that it's hard to breathe. I don't care, she's almost the only thing I have left from my life before I found out the cruel tendencies of our faction and I'm going to hold onto that for as long as I can.

"You're alive" I whisper, smiling like a fool.

"No duh Stiff, you can't silenced me yet" her voice is happy, happy for the first time in ages.

"Well we all know that" I hear Tobias behind me laugh under his breath and I cant help but join him.

"So that's it, after all of this I'm still the loudmouth Candor from initiation, huh Four." the mock sincerity in Christinas voice makes my eyes squint with laughter, a mocking Candor is laughable on the good days, it's hysterical to me now.

Four puts his hands up in false surrender "You said it, I just insinuated it"

"Nice wording but no need to be polite, you all know that I'm not" I look around to our little group, seemingly immersed in this simple bicker between Four and Christina. They look about as cheerful as I feel but they smile along anyways, not as used to their snarky comments as I am. The reactions surprise me until I look deeper into the picture playing out before me. Laughter, happiness, joy. My friends, they're alive, alive and well for now.

What I'm looking at is hope.

I see Christina and Fours lips moving and though his face is devoid of emotion I can see the light in both of their eyes as they see it too.

After seeing what we did, knowing what we know, the fact that we can even grasp the idea of hope is a miracle to me.

I feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, if only for a second before the gates in front of us creak open and my eyes snap in that direction. I see in my peripherals that everyone else is that focused as well. All conversation died of quickly and we're all shocked to see a group of about 15 people on the other side.

Their clothing doesn't match, there are colors I've never seen before.

They wear the colors as if they don't really matter, like they don't really symbolize anything important. They stare back with blank faces and it's then that I see a familiar face emerge from the crowd. My eyes pick up on the familiar walk, the piercing blue eyes so much like Will's.

"Cara" Christina and I say at the same time as a way of introduction, she nods in assent. I should be surprised, my mouth should be hanging open like Peter, Uriah, and even Christina but somehow I'm not surprised that she's out here, especially after what Peter said about her "disappearance"

"I need you to come with me" is all she says before she turns again and starts walking through the crowd motioning us to follow suit.

Our little group shuffles forward, Peter, Uriah, Tobias, Christina, and I.

I see the cation reflected in the eyes of the only friends I really have left, as we step across a border that once seemed impenetrable.
