Wendell was the very first African American driver to win a NASCAR Premiere Series trophy, he was also the first African American to win a race in the Grand National Series (which is now the Sprint Cup Series), which is NASCAR's highest level of all. Scott was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame which is locate in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 30th of the year 2015.
