Chapter 7

Kalyn woke up the next morning. The sun shining beautifully outside. Everything seemed to glow with beauty. She was happy to be awake and living again. "Alittle birdy told me that you are getting released today!" Jewell, Kalyn's nurse, said happily as she wrote down information from Kalyn's machines. "Really!?!?!" Kalyn said extremely excited. Her heart racing with the excitement to get out and see Joey for the first time in 3 months. "Ill let the doctor know you're awake." Jewel smiled as she grabbed her clipboard and walked out. The doctor came in a few seconds later. "Well Miss Woods, you're free to go, just make sure to get a check up in about 2 weeks. You're friends have left a bag with clothes ever since you got here. I'll give you privacy and just come to the front desk to get your paperwork. Goodbye Miss Woods." The doctor said with a smile as he walked out shutting the door behind him. Kalyn squeled with happiness as all her machines had been turned off, her ivs out, and she was free to walk around.

she found the bag on the table next to her bed. She pulled out a top and leggings with her ugg boots. She smiled knowing Joey had picked the outfit out for her since it was his favorite on her. She found her phone at the bottom of her bag, it was turned off to save battery. She slipped it in the pocket of her northface jacket before zipping up the bag and walking out of her room. In the waiting room was Chad, Fallon, Caleb, Kelsey, Alan, and the girls. They were all on their phones or doing some type of work on their macbooks. "What?, no hello?" Kalyn said sarcastically. "Kalyn?" Alan said closing his mac book and looking up. Happiness made his face glow. "I'm officially released!!" Kalyn said happily as Alan embraced her in a hug. "Were glad to have you back sweet pea." Alan said giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Auntie Kalyn!!!!!" the girls screamed running towards Kalyn and hugging each leg. "I missed you girls a whole bunch." Kalyn said kneeling down so she could give each girl a hug. "Are you feeling better Auntie K?" Presley asked. "Much much better!." Kalyn said poking Presley's nose making her giggle.

Hugs went all around. But Kalyn still noticed Joey wasn't there but didn't really pay much attention to it, after all he hasn't slept well since she was admitted 3 months ago. "I got to go to the front desk to get final paperwork and then we can be on our way."Kalyn said. "Then do you want to drop your bag off at the hotel and then go to eat? Caleb asked. "Anywhere you want!" Kelsey added. "sounds like a plan." Kalyn said contently.

They checked Kalyn out of the hospital and they walked the 3 blocks to their hotel. "We can just set the bags in my room for now." Alan said as he took the bag from Kalyn and dropped inside the door of his room. "Ready now?" Alan said with a smile. "yes of course." She said similing as she linked arms with Alan and the group walked out of the hotel. "Is there Chinese around here?" Kalyn asked as her stomach growled from hunger. "I think it's a good 5 blocks, are you sure you want to walk that far?" Chad asked concerned. "Im fine with that." Kalyn reassuringly smiled back. Chad smiled back and they walked and chatted. "So what was it like being in a coma?" Kelsey asked cautiously. "It-it was different, it was like a whole different world within my head that I seemed to be living mentally but not physically if that makes any sense." Kalyn rambled. "Makes perfect sense." Kelsey said quietly. Kalyn wanted to know all that happened after her coma. Some of it she knew she could only find out from Joey but the rest of it she wanted to know. "What was it like for you guys, being on the other side of it?" Kalyn quietly asked. "Well it's like the world kinda just stopped... We have been by your side this entire time. We cancelled the rest of tour just to make sure we could care for you." Alan said turning to Kalyn as her eyes filled up with sadness. "You guys stopped the tour just for me?" Kalyn said tears starting to brew in her eyes. "We wanted to make sure that we were putting all our time into your care, we can always go on another tour. But you? Well, there's only one Kalyn." Alan said offering a soft smile and putting an arm around Kalyn's shoulders bringing her closer to him as her arm draped across his waist as they walked to the restaurant. "Thank you soo much for being such a family to me." Kalyn said whipping her eyes with her gloved hands. "We're always here for you, we would never give up on you. Family takes care of family." Caleb said looking at Kalyn with a loving smile. Kalyn smiled back, happy tears beading at her eyes as they walked the final block towards the restaurant.

Kalyn almost didn't want to go to sleep. She felt like she had been asleep for awhile. Alan had let her stay in his room with the girls since he knew Joey was gone but didn't want to give Kalyn something to worry about even though he knew that she sensed something was up. Kalyn sat on the spare bed with her freshly washed hair pulled into a braid. She grabbed her phone from her jacket and turned it on for the first time in three months. Several social media notifications,

and one text message.

From Joey...

Kalyn read the message, tears streaming down her face, her heart beginning to race. "Alan!" Kalyn cried. Alan rushed over and sat next to Kalyn putting a soothing hand to her back. "What's wrong sweet pea?" Alan asked. Kalyn just shook her head and showed Alan who read her text. "He sent this three days ago, We haven't been able to get ahold of him." Alan said nervously. "We need to find him, Alan. This isn't like him. I'm worried he's dealing with his problems the way I used to... And if we don't find him soon he will probably end up dead." Kalyn said growing serious.

Kalyn knew that Joey was probably dealing with his depression from her accident the same way she dealt with her depression.....
