Axel stood up on pitcher,smiling as the crowd roared.Axel's team had just won the first game of the season and he couldn't be more proud

"Axel you did it!Wake up"He furrowed his brows at his brother Jc

"Wake up Axel!"Jc repeated

.....

"Axel wake up"Axel's eyes snapped opened to complete darkness.He totally forgot that he blind.Axel slumped than laid back on his back on his bed

The dream.It was so real,like if it actually happened

"Come on,I'm late and plus I have to walk you"He felt his brother pulling him out of bed

A groaned escaped Axel's lips as Jc dressed him.This was one thing Axel couldn't adjust to every morning.He felt Jc place his cane in his hand than carefully helped him down the steps

Each day Axel had to record each step he took every time he went out for a walk or in a run of a day

Week one Axel took over a thousands steps.Coach Shayna couldn't be more impress with his status

Later that day,Mrs.Rodgers helped Axel make lunch.Which lately,Axel has been living off of sandwiches and pizza

Can you blame him

Mr. and Mrs.Rodgers came in on an agreement.

Mrs.Rodgers would keep him feed and bathe...sometimes while Mr.Rodgers on the other hand would keep him shaved

Work has became stressful for his parents while school drove Jc up the wall.When Axel's family came home,the routine repeats which was making Axel a little off lately

Since the whole blind incident,he couldn't help but to be moody all the time.Axel was basically alone during the day and in the evening he only got a short bit of attention than he was to himself again

For him to be a boy,Axel wanted attention from his parents.He wanted them to love and care for him

Axel sat up on his bed,pondering to himself.Something has been doing a lot lately

Did the kids at school miss him?

Were they talking about him?

Did they know he was blind?

Would they treat him the same once he came back?

He highly doubted.No ones wanted to be friends with a blind person

He heard a knocked on door.Axel let out sigh as he mumbled 'come in'

"Hey sweetie,I just waned to say goodnight"Mrs.Rodgers leaned against the doorway.She saw that her son looked sad and went to sit by him on the bed

"What's with this frown I see"she tried to be funny but Axel didn't crack

Mrs.Rodgers saw tear slipped from his eye as he let out a sob.She immdiately embraced him while he shook in her arms

"What's wrong"she asked

Axel shook his head and continued to cry.He has never beat himself up this badly.Axel hated all the small voices in his head that told him 'No'

He wish he could make all the hate and pain he had towards himself go away

Axel calmed down a little,ready to talk

"I can't do this blind stuff anymore,I hate being this way.Not being able to do stuff for myself and always waking to the darkness.Mom I can't do this anymore"Axel trembled,falling backing into his mother's embrace

Mrs.Rodgers watched as her son cried his heart out to her.The surgery was super risky and not guaranteed that it would work

She didn't want to put her son under that

'Maybe he's not being himself right now' she thought

"Axel,what if it doesn't work.I would a terrible mother if that happened"she tried to reason with him

"It has to work,there's a 90% chance mom please"Axel begged his mother

Mrs.Rodgers couldn't let fall under that depression stake.She couldn't knowing she could have made the first call

"Axel are really thinking this through,I couldn't bear to see you be depress about this.What if doesn't work"tears brimmed in her eyes

"Than I would thank you for giving me a second chances"he held his mother's hands

Everyone in life deserves a second chance.Axel wanted one and he wasn't going to screw it up

"I'll have talk with your father to see what he say but in the meantime,you focus training with Coach Shayna okay?"Axel nodded

Mrs.Rodgers helped him into bed and tucked him

"I love you mom"she kissed his cheek

"I love you too sweetie"she closed his room door

Second chance.Was Axel really getting a second chance
