"Gabriel, you were careless." "I know, Cameron." "Do you, Gabriel?!" "I was trying to protect her!" They had no idea that I could hear them. When we had gotten to the hotel, we'd gotten one room. It had a nice sized couch area, with two recliners and two couches. There was a closed off bed room and two bathrooms. I had woken up around 2 am, after having another dream about Gabriel and the ball, it was the same one actually. I sat against the wall with the door slightly cracked. "I'm gonna go check on her." I heard Tyler stand up, "You're getting too attached to her, brother." "I'm not attached to her. I'm only doing what her mother told me to do." "So her mother said that you had to kiss her?" the room fell silent and Cam had gained the upper hand in this argument, "I'm acting, Cameron." I could feel the tears in my eyes as I stood up, throwing the door open. Everyone was staring at me, "Lexie, what's--" "No! Stop pretending you care! Don't ever call me that again!" Tyler looked hurt, 'Good'. "Alex, please--" "No! Leave me alone, Tyler!" He tried to hug me, but I shoved him away. Cameron stood up, "Alexis, please calm down." I ignored him, still staring at Tyler, "You lied to me!" "Lex--" "No!" I ran out of the room, into the hallway. I ran down the hall, until I found a side entrance. I waited until I'd made it to the edge of the woods before completely breaking down. I sat under a tree, hugging my knees to my chest. Someone came and sat down next to me. They pulled me into their lap, rocking me gently, "Lexie, I swear I didn't mean anything I said in there. Please..." His voice cracked and he let it trail off. He waited until I'd calmed down before moving. He gently pulled my chin up look at him, "What's wrong with you...liking me?" "I'll show you...in a minute." He bent his head down to kiss me. I returned his kiss, turning to face him completely, still in his lap. I buried my hands in his hair and his hands were pressing my body closer to his. We continued to kiss, until someone cleared their throat and I jumped. Tyler laughed quietly. I hadn't even realized we had moved at all. Tyler was laying down and I was straddling his waist, "Brother, if you'd like to do that, I'm sure we can get you a room." Tyler sat up but left me in place, so my legs were still wrapped around his waist. He smiled and looked at me. He tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear, "What do you think?" I smiled and was about to answer when there was a searing, white-hot pain in my back and shoulders. I screamed and tears came to my eyes as I cringed and buried my face in Tyler's chest. His eyes were filled with tears from watching me in pain. He picked me up, cradling me to his chest and ran inside, up to our room. Gabriel walked into the bedroom where Tyler was gently rocking me and cradling me to his chest. Gabriel kept his voice low, "It's going to get worse, the closer we get to her change." Tyler's voice cracked, "How long does she have?" "At the most...four days. I'm sorry Tyler, but it's time for you to move on." I blacked out and could hear nothing.
