chapter six ; the new girl I found
Shawn sat in the chair that was in the living room of the cabin he had spent the night at, reading a book that he found laying on the coffee table. It all started as just skimming through pages and all—but then he began to actually read it. And Shawn, was never a reader or bookworm through his high school years. Just sitting there, with a cup of coffee in his hands made him look ten years older if that made sense. Thankfully, his non-acne skin and clean sculpture made him look 18 again, even if he was 25.
Meanwhile, Lila was with her mom in her shorts cooking spaghetti for dinner. It was Shawn's vacation, and Lila wanted to go visit her family in the mountains. And nonetheless, her boyfriend hated it.
Thinking about it relatively to his own life and between reflecting it on his relationship with Lila, he had known that if he was still with Camila—she would know what he wanted. Camila knew everything about him, and she would know if he wanted to go to a cabin in the woods or not.
Why did he let her go? God, he shouldn't have. Now they're both stuck on their past relationship. Except now, Camila's thinking that he moved on completely after breaking her heart.
What was she doing right now? Thoughts crossed his mind as he wondered of all the places she could be right now. The bar? No, she would never drink. Well, at least that's that Shawn thought. The mall? Never, she hated shopping. With all the crowds and people, the mall would be the last place she'd ever want to be in. Home? Shawn shrugged, thinking that she was probably at home, resting and falling asleep.
He wasn't even paying attention to his book anymore.
He missed her, everything about her. The way that the strands and tendrils of her hair laying softly on his chest. His heart would thump against his rib cage, so close to falling. She was so gentle, and her skin creamy and white as snow. He loved it. And Lila reminded him of Camila. She was a brunette, she had pale skin—but she wasn't ... Camila.
And oh, how we wished that he could move on.
