Chapter 25- Mother?

The next day I went again to the Ashton's, straight from school, Shawn gave me a lift, like, literally, why would you need a car when your best friend owns one? Again, Mrs Ashton greeted us in the living room, but this time Luke also came.

"Hey!" He said enthusiastically.
"Hi." I said with less enthusiasm.
" I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, but trust me, I did try telling you after that party but you freaked out. And even after that you kept avoiding me, so I didn't really have a chance to explain." Luke finished.

"It's okay... Um, I'm sorry as well." I said giving the matter a thought, yes, I did go out of my way to avoid him after the party...

"No problem." He said smiling, I simply returned the smile.

"Um, Mrs Ashton? Can I ask you something?" I asked.

"Sure, but try calling me mum instead of Mrs Ashton." She said laughing at her own joke, literally I have no idea what the joke was.

"Even if Luke and I are twins, then how come he is a day older than me?" I asked frowning.

"Well, you see Luke was born at exactly 11:50pm and you were born at exactly 12:05am, the same night." She replied.

It was funny though, how I was separated at birth, from my real mum, brought up by a step mother, then I almost fell for my brother?!?

Gross.

Awkward...

Then, I got to meet my real mother. I was interrupted in my thoughts, when Shawn whispered to me,"You okay?"

"Oh, yea. I'm totally fine." I said nodding.

"But, mum, one more question, don't be upset if I ask this, how do I know that you really are my birth mother? What proof do you have?" I asked in confusion.

"Well, " she then produced a thick file from behind her," look." She said pushing it in my hand.

Well...

It had everything.

My birth certificate, my vaccinations, my baby pictures with Luke, I knew that was me because I have similar pictures at home as well. Everything the mother of a 8 month old would have!

That was it. That means she really was my mother. But now, I had to talk to my father and his wife about this.
