The Model's Assistant Ch. 5

After finding out that Linda had lied to him, Kevin is ready to confront her and get Edd his job back. To both their surprise Kevin comes out winning the battle. But Linda is not going to back down so easly. Can Kevin win the war that is to come?

The next morning Kevin woke up and got ready. He stared at himself in the mirror and took a deep breath. Today was the day he would confront Linda, and his nerves were shaking. At eight a.m. on the dot, there was a knock at his door. Kevin looked through the peephole and unlocked it.

“Good morning, Kevin. Are you ready to go?” The brunette asked with a polite smile.

After an hour or so of pleading, Kevin finally had convinced Edd to accompany him to the studio. The red-head smile and nodded.

“Thanks again for coming with me. Did you get enough sleep last night? I’m really sorry for calling you so late,” Kevin asked as they walked down the driveway.

Edd looked at him and smiled. It was around three thirty in the morning when he was woken up by Kevin’s sudden call.

“Hey Edd. I’m sorry for calling you at this hour.”

“Is everything alright?” Edd asked worried.

“Um, yea. I was just wondering if you could help me out with something.”

“Of course, what is it?”

There was a short pause while Kevin took a deep breath.

“I want to confront Linda.”

“WHAT?!” Edd sat up faster than he could blink.

“I would like it if you came with me.”

“I don’t know Kevin? Linda is not one to get on her bad side. If I show up with you, she will not be pleased.”

“Yeah but if I go alone, she’ll just lie again. Please Edd, I need you there with me.”

“I don’t know Kev-”

“Please, Please Edd, I’ll do anything. I’ll get down on one knee, I’ll kiss the ground, anything, please.”

Edd was could hear how nervous and freaked out he was, even though he would never admit it. He contemplated it and then sighed.

“Alright, I will accompany you. However it will have to be early in the morning when Linda first arrives to the studio.”

“Thank you Edd. You’re the greatest assistant ever.”

After they had planned everything and hung up with each other, Edd couldn’t fall back asleep. He was just as nervous as Kevin was about the whole thing. He had stayed awake up until now.

However, he didn’t want the red-head to know so he just smiled.

“No need to apologize. I fell back asleep almost instantly, so it is alright,” he replied.

“I’m glad,” Kevin said as he leaned forward and kissed the brunette on his cheek.

That made Edd blush and look back at the red-head, who was also blushing. They drove to the studio in complete, awkward, silence.

Once they made it to the studio, Kevin felt a knot form in his stomach. At that same moment, Linda pulled up in her car and parked in her usual spot. Now Kevin was panicking. His entire body froze.

Edd placed a hand on the red-heads shoulder. The sudden touch caused him to jump. “Are you alright?”

Taking a deep breath, Kevin nodded and got out of the car. He walked toward Linda and called out to her, before she went into the building.
