When Everything Changes

Chapter 4

'Lizzie, we will come back for you.'

"Ah!" I awoke screaming hearing my 'father' chanting through my head. I had had another dream. I didn't know where I'm supposed to go from here. My supposed parents Joey and Joanna's prison sentence was five years.

"Lizzie!" my mom ran in after hearing me scream. "Are you alright? I heard you scream all of the way downstairs."

"Yeah,im fine. I had another dream."

"Oh dear, I'll call the doctor," she said while pulling out her phone. whenever I had a dream she called my doctor. He thought I was only paranoid having been put through being kidnapped by two horrid people.

After the doctor was finished examining me I got a text from Jesse. 'Hey wanna hang out today?' it read.

I responded with a sure and got ready to go. When Jesse arrived at my front door I made my way out to his old beat up car.

"So, what is it you want to do?" I asked.

"Movie?" he asked hopefully. after nodding in response he took off down the road. when the movie was over we went to Starbucks for a coffee and went home. He walked me up to the door.

"Thanks for today. I really needed out of the house." I finally said to break the silence.

"Yeah, absolutely." Before I knew what was happening he leaned in and pressed his lips against mine. when I came to my senses I quickly pushed him away. before he could anything I clenched my fist and sent it flying through the air making contact with his eye.

"What the fuck was that!" he screamed as he put his hand over his eye.

"Jessie! If you haven't noticed.. I. Have. A. Boyfriend. And not only that my boyfriend also happens to be your best friend! If you ever try that again I swear to god I will rip your lips right off your-" suddenly my sentence was cut off with having Jesse's lips crashing onto mine as he grabbed at me.

Before I could do anything about, it he was pushing open the door as he led me upstairs to my room. I got so caught up in him that somehow I forgot I had the greatest boyfriend I could ever ask for. Jesse continued on kissing me as he pushed the door closed with his foot. Lust was clouding my judgement. All I remember after that was spending the night with Jesse and losing myself in him.

One particular memory came flooding through me when I saw a dent in the wall next to my bed. Jake made that.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" he raged. Before I knew what was going on Jake was crossing the room grabbing me by the arm and picking me up off of Jesse.

"Jake, look I can explain," I pleaded. Only realizing that I couldn't. there was no way I could explain the betrayal of his girlfriend having sex with none other, but his best friend. Quickly covering myself with my robe I turned to see him throw a puch at the eye that was not already bruised.

Jessie was in shock, recovering in a split second as Jake threw another one at him. Ducking out of the way Jake was forced to punch the wall making a large hole. How I could explain that hole got there to my mother, I did not know.

"Woah, calm down man. What's fair is fair. you snooze you lose, buddy." Jessie smirked. He didn't just say that! This only aggravated Jake more and angered me intensely.

"Hey buddy," I said making my way toward him. "I am not a fucking toy! And I am not fair game! Oh and he did not snooke and lose! He does just fine!" I nearly screamed at him. Jesse only smirked at my words. I made a plan to shoot him down.

Slowly I leant down to kiss him. He leaned forward to close the gap between us, but before he could I sent my fish toward his face making contact in the center of his nose. His nose started to gush blood as he gave me a horrified look. "Now, get the hell out!" I shouted at him.

I sat down on my bed. Catching a glance at jake's face before he turned away from me I saw a tear glide down his cheek. "jake?" I asked softly. At this he turned to me wiping away the tear.

"How could you?" was all he said as he walked out of my room slamming the door behind him. I winced at the sound. I felt completely horrible. Crying myself into a deep sleep I almost completely forgot what had happened minutes before.

How could I have done that to him? I asked myself. he has always been so faithful!
