After dancing with Styles, Amara went down to get herself water. She had been exhausted yet relaxed by the dance session she had with Styles. He also decided to go back to his room to read a few muggle books that he had brought with him.
As Amara went down the stairs, she could not help but take a quick glance over the living room. She furrowed her brows to see that Malfoy was not in the quaint sofa where he was hours ago.
''Maybe he went back to his room' Amara thought. She bit her lip and went into the kitchen, grabbing a pitcher of water.
After finishing a small glass of water, she decided to cook something to fill her stomach. Amara was the type of person who had an itchy moutch most of the time; not at all hungry, but wanted something to chew on. Pancakes at the middle of the day sounded so good to Amara.
She cooked a pile of pancakes that was enough to serve the whole house. She brought three plates in her arms, balancing them as she went up the stairs. The rest, she left for Bill and Fleur, just in case if they wanted some.
Amara went into Styles' room without knocking since the door was wide open anyway. She came into a room, with simple white walls, which contained nothing but a soft bed, in which Styles sat on, a dresser, and a closet. Books were littered on his bed as he scanned a novel called A Tale of Two Cities. However, he rose his head upon hearing the swivel of the door move.
Amara smiled and handed him the pancakes.
His eyes brightened upon the sight of the food and grinned." Thanks!"
"No problemo," Amara chuckled." I'll just hand this to Malfoy."
He nodded as he dug in the pile of pancakes in his plate.
She went out of his room with the remaining two plates in her hand and headed to Malfoy's bedroom; two doors down from hers. Using a levitation charm on the plates of pancakes, she knocked on the door softly, but there was no answer .
"Malfoy?" She called out softly with another knock. Still no answer.
With furrowed brows, she twisted the doorknob, seeing that it was not locked. She opened the door to reveal an empty room with a made up bed and fluffed pillows. It was as if no one occupied the room.
Amara hesitantly walked in, hoping that her thoughts weren't true.' He wouldnt have left right?' She asked herself. She looked around and saw no traces of him, not even his scent. She suddenly felt worry surge through her veins. She had no idea why she was so worried that he left. It's not like he had to stay here with them or something.
Her breathing suddenly stopped as her eyes landed on a piece of paper that was on top of the empty, but clean bed. She took the paper out of the bed hesitantly, as if it would disappear any second.
She gulped a few times before she read the elegant, black handwriting that was no doubt Malfoy's.
'Im going back to the Manor.
My presence here is nothing but a bother to all of you.
I appreciate all that you did for me, Amara--and I'll forever be thankful.
Goodbye.
-Dm'She clutched the paper tightly and read it over rand over again. Her brows were tightly knitted together as she gritted her teeth.' How dare he?!' She thought.' How dare he leave with just this?!'
She was absolutely furious. They have been friends--at least, that's what she thought-- and he left them with nothing but a note? Didn't he have the decency of saying goodbye in person?! Amara wanted to hex him to oblivion in that moment, but once she calmed down, it all sank in.
He left.
And that realization made something stir inside Amara. Something that she can't really describe. She felt longing, agony, and.. Something she really can't even pronounce.
Amara had not even noticed that the plates of pancakes crashed on the floor, broken and shattered to pieces. She also did not notice that Styles stood by the bedroom door, eyes wide at the sight of the broken pieces of the plates.
"What happened?" He asked as he cautiously approached Amara.
Amara blinked a few times, reality catching up on her. She looked at Harry and handed him the note.
He read it and set his gaze back to her face." Malfoy left?"
She nodded. Styles did not really like Malfoy. He could see the way Malfoy looked at Amara; the way his eyes lit up when he talks with her; the smile that unconsciously creeps to his face when she laughs; the jealousy and rage that shows in his orbs when Styles manages to be the her that made her smile. He knew that Malfoy liked Amara the way he did. They both cared for her, and they always will.
But when Styles saw the look on Amara's face, he wanted to drag Malfoy back here--just to see her happy. He loved her enough to put her happiness before his, even if it means hurting himself.
"I-im going," Amara suddenly spoke up after minutes of silence." I'm going to the Manor."
"Are you crazy?" Styles almost yelled at her." That's where most of the death eaters are! You can't just go there for Malfoy!"
"Im not just going there for Malfoy!" Amara argued with Styles." I'm going there to end this stupid shit!"
"What do you mean?" Harry asked, completely bewildered by what she said.
"You'll understand when it all ends," Amara stated; and with that, she apparated out of the house and to the Malfoy Manor, leaving Styles completely angry, surprised, and determined to follow her.
•••
Once Amara arrived the entrance of the Malfoy Manor, she eased her dry throat by gulping a few times. She held her wand in her hand tightly, reminding herself to be brave. She muttered a spell on herself." Moudisménos."
Amara felt all of her feelings and thoughts drain out of her body. She did not feel the reason why she came to the cold mansion. She just felt nothing in that moment; no pain, longing, sadness.... Nothing.
It was a spell that she had read out of an ancient greek book; a numbing spell. She used this once before, when her emotions were too much for her. Amara also tried a numbing potion once, which worked really well too, but she didn't have the potion right now. She had to use this so that her her defense against Legillimency will work even better. She learned Occlumency years ago, but she knew that the more mumb you are, the stronger it is. Amara also knew that Malfoy was highly skilled at Occlumency since she tried to use Legillimency on him once--to figure our if he was lying about his wand-- but he managed to plant in false memories and make her believe that his wand was a fake.
"Bombarda," and with that the door opened wide, revealing a quite surprised Malfoy family.
