"Begin again, from the top." Phil instructed, his voice relaxed and his eyes solely trained on Dan's hands as the slipped along the smooth keys of the piano. Dan and Phil have been working together for a few months now. Almost five if Dan had counted correct, and he was sure he had. Phil was a great instructor and Dan had convinced his dad to keep Phil as the instructor after Dan's father had properly spoken with him. Dan was happy that his dad let him keep Phil. Phil was perfect. Humorous and laid back, but strict enough that Dan didn't slack. It's like that one teacher that hands you a coloring sheet for homework before the holidays. It was a relief compared to everything else. Phil and Dan had grown quite close, and didn't limit their time to just piano, and Phil often stayed the night at Dan's when his roommate, an American YouTuber named Tyler, got on Phil's nerves by constantly talking about these two different guys. Troye and another person Dan couldn't remember as his movement were on autopilot. Finally finishing on the correct note, Dan looked at Phil, who's eyes sparkled in pride. "And you said you were fine without me, listen to that. I have sculpted you perfectly." He said with a laugh.

"You?" I asked, Dan's voice dripping with thick fake questioning. Dan just laughed and playfully pushed him off the bench, and on to the soft carpet. "Anyway, so, will you come to the graduation party with me? I've never been to a party and I'd like someone there I can trust?" Phil gave a sad smile and looked Dan in the eyes.

"You already know the answer, I'm going to America with Tyler to give him moral support for when he explains his situation to his dad and grandma." He said, and Dan's face fell. He was happy for Tyler and Phil, but he wanted Phil. He was Dan's instructor after all. Dammit, he should have him whenever he wanted. But Tyler was also asking out that Troye kid, so Dan knew why he'd want to steal Phil's warm and reassuring smile. The smile that makes you wake up and realize that there was a life besides living and repeating. There was always a reason, and Tyler needed that.

Dan looked down at Phil and studied his features, their stares had never bothered the other after the first day. Phil would just sit there as Dan stared at him, before Dan naturally broke out of his trance. Phil sometimes stared at Dan too, but he sure it wasn't in the way Dan had started to stare at Phil. When Dan's eyes traveled over Phil, he noticed everything. His hair was messing from running his hand through it when he got annoyed with Dan. His eyes had just a slight purple tint beneath them, so Dan knew Phil wasn't well rested. Then to Phil's jaw where a week ago he and Tyler fought so bad they had given each a nasty bruise. Though, Phil's was only a soft faded purple dot with a yellow look around it. Then, as his eyes traveled to Phil neck, his gaze shifted from curious and friendly, so the kind he knew he should hide. Where his eyes stared at Phil's neck in a desire to leave bruises and marks to claim Phil as his. His button up as the top two buttons undone and Phil's necktie was loose and almost undone. Dan's eyes looked to Phil's, where he noticed Phil looking at Dan's lips. Dan smiled and quickly Phil made eyes connect with Dan.

Phil got up and stretched, his lean body looking exposed and vulnerable, making Dan blush and look away. Then Phil let out the softest yawn. Dan's head snapped up and smiled softly to Phil. "I didn't sleep well, the neighbors dog was loud, so I best get going before I get so tired I fall asleep on the way home. I'm close enough to that point as it is." But before Phil could even reach for his jacket on the floor, Dan hugged him. Dan knew he was consumed, but hugged back tightly. Phil gave the best hugs if you asked Dan.

"You can stay tonight, you know? Dad loves you, he won't mind, and Aiden is having a friend over so I'll be lonely. Plus we can't have you get hurt. Sleep here please?" Dan mumbled as he hugged Phil. When he pulled back, Phil beamed that sunshine ray of a smile and nodded. They shared clothes, so Phil wasn't even worried about clothing. With a smile, Dan giggled and jumped at the sound of Aiden, his little brother, and Phil's little cousin. Turns out that they have been best friends all along. Phil smiled and Dan gave a somewhat of a grin.

"Uncle Phil, Uncle Dan-"

"Why do you call my brother Uncle?" Aiden interrupted, which was a good question. Ever since he saw Dan and Phil hanging out, he's always called Dan Uncle. Though, it was a bit odd, Phil just gave and awkward smile and Dan managed to shrug it off. Though, it did raise the question that Dan's brother just asked.

"Oh, shush, like you don't know, idiot." At Jake's words, he got even more curious, and Dan looked at his brother's face. He looked like he did understand, and it was more just a thought out loud. "Anyway, Uncle Phil, Uncle Dan, will you guys take us to practice?" He asked, but Dan knew Phil was tired.

"Phil needs some sleep, so I'll play the role of Soccer Mom. Can I have your keys?" He asked Phil, since Dan had yet to pick out his car. Phil smiled and rolled his eyes, but handed over his car keys. With the sweetest smile Phil hugged Dan once more as Phil grabbed his jacket and headed for Dan's room, which was his preferred place to sleep because Dan had a waterbed. As Dan stared after Phil, Jake and Aiden laughed and giggled. "What?" Dan asked an both the boys looked up and tried to stop giggling. "You guys are weird." Dan said as he lead the way to the car as both boys traded their backpacks for their football bags. As they got into the car, the boys were leaning close together and whispering intently, sometimes glancing at Dan as Dan started the car. He wondered what in the world they could be talking about.

"OH MY GOD I KNOW RIGHT, IT'S SO OBVIOUS!" Aiden yelled causing Dan to wonder even more about what they were talking about. But before he could ask, he had the car stopped, and the boys were already off to practice. The ride was short, but they were almost late to practice and walking would have surly made them late. So, with a smile, both boys hopped out of Phil's beautiful blue car and were running to practice. Dan drove home quickly, wanting to rush home because he was sure his dad would be home soon.

Dan pulled into the large driveway and parked, pulling out the keys, and rushing inside and up the big stairway to his room. He carefully opened the door to see Phil just laying there, eyes closed. Dan thought he was asleep at first, but Phil's breathing was rushed and uneven, which let Dan know that he was awake, as well as stressed. He sat on his bed and laid back so that his head rested on Phil's stomach, feeling as his stomach moved with his breathing. His breathing quickened as Dan's head first laid there, before it quickly slowed and Phil moved to look at Dan's eyes. Dan just watched Phil's face. As he smiled when he saw Dan, the way his eyes looked softer instead of cold and icy, the way they drooped shut. Before Dan could comprehend that Phil was asleep, he was already mumbling to Phil. "Why do you still put up with me when you seem so stressed?" Dan whispered as he stared at Phil's sleeping form. On multiple occasions, Phil seemed so stressed, but never once didn't visit Dan.

Dan sat up and grabbed the blanket he knew Phil liked, and covered Phil up. 'You've never left me hanging, not once. Even on days your eyes have purple circles under them and even on the day you had been crying. You never left me. You always seemed so happy when I was around. So why do you have to be straight? Don't you know, she can love you good, but I can love you better. She can make you smile, but I can make you happy. She's funny, but I'm the one that makes you laugh. She's the one you want, but we both know I'm the one you need.' Dan thought as he stared at Phil's sleeping face. Dan remembers how heart broken he had been when Phil mentioned that he had a girlfriend. But Dan still dreamt that one day, he could teach Phil a lesson. That he could teach Phil that he was the most important thing to Dan. That he could teach him just how much Dan has grown to love Phil over the past five months. That he could teach Phil how Phil was his ray of sun, and how he swears that Phil's an angel because Phil has made everything better.

Dan's thoughts were broken as his dad got home. He got up and rushed down the stairs, giving his dad a friendly smile. "Phil was tired, so he's sleeping over tonight. He's napping upstairs right now." Dan said, and Dan's father smiled.

"Good, I need to talk to him about a job offering at the office. Also, you need to start working on original songs, Dan." His father said. Dan looked confused but nodded. His dad really liked Phil, and knew his son had a crush on him. Dan's father was even disappointed when Phil had mentioned his girlfriend, because Phil was the first guy that Dan's father actually approved of. Meaning, he liked Phil enough to want Phil to date his son. Dan watched as his father went into the kitchen. He sighed as he walked back upstairs to see Phil looking as peaceful as ever as he slept. Dan laid next to Phil and closed his eyes. In his mind, Phil would roll over and hug Dan, whispering something cute. But that stuff didn't happen in real life.
