"Where's my sister?" Carter demanded.

"Calm down, my pharaoh. She's safe...for now," Dimitri promised.

"I want to see her," Carter said.

"Not until I know you're in," Dimitri said calmly.

Carter fumed on the other side of the roof of the rebels' liar. The desert was the only thing in sight. "I'll do it as long as no one dies. This will not be a war. We will only talk to the demigods," Carter insisted.

Dimitri clenched his teeth. This was not how things were suppose to go. However, Dimitri was a patient man. "Very well," he said.

"I'll organize a meeting with the demigods. Now, let me see Sadie."

Carter followed Dimitri inside. The rebels were having problems keeping Sadie under control. She was continuously trying to break her bounds. Sadie stopped moving when she spots Carter. She started cheering.

Carter rushed forward, but magicians stepped in his way. "We'll release her when you do your part," Dimitri said.

"What's the point? I won't get rid of the demigods, only talk with them," Carter said, not taking his eyes off Sadie.

"We will see. Tell me when you have that meeting arranged," Dimitri said. He waved goodbye to Carter to dismiss him.

"Everything will be alright, Sadie. I'm coming back for you," Carter told Sadie. She nodded.

Carter left the liar. Dimitri turned to Sadie. "Your brother's right. Everything is going to be fine. We'll have our empire back and the children of the gods will be no more," Dimitri whispered. "See, I'm going to convince Carter that the demigods mean to harm us."

Sadie mumbles a protest."Anna! Are you and your team ready?" Dimitri asked.

The blonde blue eyed Russian nodded. "We're ready to attack the Romans," she said. Sadie's eyes became alarmed.

Dimitri smiled at her distress. "Carry on then," he said. "Our dear pharaoh never said we couldn't attack them. A battle is not a war."

The attack came slowly. It all started when the clouds turned dark. Everyone could sense the danger approaching. To bad our esteemed praetors weren't quick enough for the rebels. They appeared out of nowhere, coming in all directions. The senators were having a meeting in the Senate House, so they didn't have their weapons. The Roman demigods made an escape to the Pomerian Line, where they would be safe. At least that's what they thought. The magicians had no care for Terminus' rules. They destroyed his statues and advanced into the New Rome. The demigods could do nothing. Even if they had weapons it wouldn't be a match to their foes.

Anna proudly stood, leading the attack. This was her chance to prove herself among the rebels. "Wreck havoc, my brothers and sisters," she screamed.

"So you're just letting him step over you," Walt whispered.

"I'm saving Sadie," Carter whispered back. They didn't want to disturb the funeral.

"You don't think I want to save Sadie? I do. She wouldn't want this though," Walt muttered.

The magicians began to place sentiments on the coffins. The parents of the victims were silently crying in the corner of cemetery. "We should be plotting to break her out of there," Walt suggested.

"Why don't you just focus on the funeral? Isn't that your thing now?"

You could practically see Anubis snarling on the inside. "This will not end pretty," Walt said.

"Just trust me on-" Carter stopped mid sentence when Dimitri and a few rebels came into view. Dimitri moved to stand next to Ashley. Carter and Walt couldn't make out their conversation.

"Do you think that's a problem?" Walt asked.

"No. Ashley is loyal to us," Carter said uncertainly.

"What about the other nomes?" Walt said.
