Chapter 2

Fizzy's POV

I shifted onto my right foot, as we all stood there awkwardly. "I'm going for a swim... Anyone wanna come?" Questioned Trix, breaking the awkwardness. "Sure" Louis replied, grabbing Trix and throwing her over his shoulder. He ran into the water, despite her screams of protest. He then dropped her in. I giggled. "Cute, aye?" Zayn whispered in my ear. "Yea they are" I nodded in agreement.

"Addi! Please come in the water?" Harry begged. He'd been asking her for the past five minutes. "No! I'm scared of the water!" She whined. Lies. He huffed. He grabbed her wrist and dragged her down towards the water. Fucking hell. "Harry! Stop!" I called but he didn't listen. I glanced at her worried expression, I ran over and tackled Harry to the ground. It was too late, she'd touched the water.

A blinding light surrounded Addi as she transformed. I covered my eyes until the light faded into the night sky. There sat Addi, on the sand, no longer with legs, but a tail. The boys gasped at the sight of Addi sitting there with a beautiful pink tail. "Well damn. So much for us being a secret" remarked Trix. "You're all mermaids?!" The boys asked. We all nodded. "That's really cool!" Exclaimed Niall. "That's why you wear the pendant isn't it, Harper?" Asked Liam. "How the fuck do you know that?!" I exclaimed. I stared at him curiously. "Well... Uh- You see we're mermen..." Liam whispered. My mouth gaped open. "Wow! You guys are the first merpeople we've met, other than each other and our families!" Ami said excitedly. "Same here" nodded Niall.

"Well then now I can do this!" Louis ran to the water and transformed, his tail a blue. The boys ran in one by one, transforming as they went into the water. Addi had crawled into the water, her tail dragging along behind her. Ami and Harp ran in holding hands and transformed. Trix jumped in, transforming beneath the surface of the waves. I stared at the water. "You coming in?" Called Zayn. What if they thought I was weird? My tail is an unnatural colour, tails are only meant to be a simple colour, not a mix like aqua/turquoise. "Nah, I think I'll pass" I say, sending him a fake smile. He frowned. "Why?" His eyes burnt into the side of my head. "I just don't feel like it" I say meeting his gaze. "You're a mermaid, of course you wanna come in!" He stated, trying to figure out why I wouldn't join. I bite my lip shaking my head. "Zayn. Don't push her, she doesn't want to, don't make her" Trix says, trying to help. Zayn sighed. "She has to!" Louis argued in a stubborn tone. "Fine!" I say. "But you can't judge!" I state, my voice dropping. The boys all nodded. I walked into the water, before letting the darkness surround me. I wasn't like the girls, I didn't have light around me when I transformed, I had darkness. I let it take my legs, and replace them with my tail. I fell into the water. My tail in view, so they could see. "Oh my fucking god! You're like a dark mermaid!" Louis exclaim, his face covered in wonder. "Zayn! You're not the only one!" Exclaimed Liam. I stared between the boys confused. Zayn's gaze met mine. "You're the same as me" he says, still processing it. "What? What do you mean?" I say, my curiosity getting the best of me. He lifted his tail up out of the water. It was a very deep dark red. "Wow" I say, becoming speechless. "Damn" muttered Trix. We didn't talk about it for the rest of the night.

"Guys I'm going to go dry off" Ami says, as her legs reappear. We all nod and follow her out. "Um guys? A little help" calls Addi. "Oh right" I say, running over and picking her up. I take her up to the soft dry sand and place her down. Ami and Harp grab towels and dry her off. Shortly after, her legs appear. "Thanks girls" she says as she stands up. "NO PROBLEM ADDI!" We shout. She flinched and covered her ears. "You spend too much time with Trix" she states. "HEY! DON'T BE A BITCH!" Trix shouts playfully. We all laugh. "I wasn't barking" sasses Addi. I feel the tears well up in my eyes. I then burst out in laughter, letting the tears flow down my cheek. "Shit! You made her cry... Of laughter!" Exclaimed Harry, laughing his head off. "Stop swearing!" Ami huffed. "Awe! Poor innocent little Ami!" Teased Trix. I wiped the tears from my eyes. "Meanie" pouted Ami. Oh my god! I pissed myself laughing, dropping to the ground clutching my stomach. "You broke her!" Trix suddenly exclaimed. "She's kind of scaring me" joked Niall.

After a long fifteen minutes, I finally got up from the sand. I wiped the tears from my eyes and took a deep breath. "Ah, she awakens from her laughing spasm!" Louis exclaims. I quickly bite my lip trying to hold back a laugh. He raises an eyebrow and takes three huge steps up to me. He stands so we were just about chest to chest, then whispering in my ear. "I really really like Trixie... Does she like me?" He whispered into my ear, I could here the nerves in his voice. Well that was unexpected... "She really does. Go get yourself a girl!" I whisper pushing him away. As he turns away, I slap his butt and wink at him. He laughs and wiggles his butt at me as he runs off to talk to Trix. Luckily nobody really noticed us talking.

I glance over to where Louis and Trix stood. She was bright red, like a tomato and he was clearly flirting with her. I shake my head and turn away. I run up and grab my phone from Harp's bag. I run back down and take a photo of the two lovebirds. "Nice photo" Zayn says from behind me. "Thanks" I say, smiling at his compliment.
