Chapter 16- Wake Me Up
Liam’s Pov
“Call an ambulance!” I yelled at the people around who were watching gobsmacked at the event that just took place. From the corner of my eye I see Indi run out of the pool to obtain the phone from inside the house. I picked up May’s body from the now red water due to the water pouring from inside of her skull and laid her on the concrete. Her skin was paler and colder than usual. Her straight golden blonde hair now wavy and red due to the impact that the water and blood had on the soft hair that was placed onto of her head but to me she was still perfect. She is far better than perfect, words can’t describe her. She is the most beautiful creature living on this earth to me even in this state.
“Liam, is she breathing?!” Indi yelled desperately, pulling me out of my thoughts. I bowed my head lower to her face checking if her lungs are using the oxygen that was provided for us. She isn’t. I rose my head in horror.
“No.” I whispered. Everyone gasped.
“No, she isn’t, please you have to get an ambulance here as fast as you can!” She yelled in the phone.
“Liam give her CPR!” Katie yelled at me but I was frozen, I can’t move from my position on the floor. Harry sighed and kneeled down and started giving May CPR. I couldn’t help for a pang of jealousy run through my veins as his lips attached hers. I heard sirens from outside of the house indicating that the paramedics are here. Indigo ran to the paramedics leading them to the lifeless May on the concrete floor.
“Excuse me please.” The female paramedic said to everyone. I shifted over a bit to give the women a bit more room to access May.
“She isn’t breathing.” The lady said to the other paramedic. He nodded at her and grabbed out the defibrillators to try to revive her.
“Ready, 1, 2, 3, clear!” The female paramedic said loudly as she put the defibrillators on May’s chest. Her chest rose up from the electric shock that was sent through her body.
“Again 1, 2, 3 clear!” The actions repeated until it was confirmed that she was breathing again. Everyone’s faces showed a sign of relief.
“We better get her to the hospital incase she stops breathing again.” The male paramedic said. The thought of May not breathing again made my body tense up.
“Okay, who is going to travel in the ambulance with her?” Everyone looked at me besides Zayn. There was no hope in hell that i’m letting him go in the ambulance with her. I know we are best friends but for some reason I have this urge to fight for her.
“I’ll go with her.” I spoke up, suddenly have this bit of confidence in myself. They both nodded hopping in the back of the ambulance.
“Wait son, do you want to change clothes?” The male paramedic said to me. I looked down realising I only had board shorts on, no top. Opps. I nodded and ran out of the ambulance to the house to retrieve my clothes. I threw on a top and changed into some jeans and ran back to the ambulance.
“Liam, call us if anything happens.” Katie said from behind me. I nodded.
“This feels like deja vu.” I heard Harry whisper as I closed the doors of the ambulance as it sped off. I sat quietly on one side of May as the paramedics sat on the other side of May. I grabbed May’s small hand into my big, manly hand and squeezed her hand gently. The whole trip to the hospital my eyes were attached to May’s face. I couldn’t find the courage to look anywhere else but her face. The ambulance came to a soft stop, indicating that we have arrived at the hospital. I opened the doors and waited outside as the paramedics took May out of the ambulance. I walked at the same pace as what the paramedics were. We entered the emergency section of the hospital and doctors and nurses surrounded the lifeless May in the bed that she travelled in. I moved out of the way, giving them more space.
