Chapter 15- Who Knew

Harry’s Pov

I walked straight up to the bathtub that was now overflowing with water and I saw her. Her head underwater. Her red lips now blue and purple. Her olive skin now pale due to the lack of oxygen. Her soft skin now all wrinkly due to the contact with water. I kneeled down next to the bathtub and pulled her out of the water and putting her on the ground in front of me. My head hovered against her chest trying to here for a heat beat. Luckily there was one but it was very distant and Faint. I ran towards her bedroom looking for a phone. I quickly searched the whole room, my head turning in different directions in a flash. I then spotted what I was looking for on Jamie’s bed. I quickly dialed 000 and ran over to Jamie’s lifeless body hoping she can stay alive till an ambulance got here.

“Hello, 000, what is your emergency?” The lady asked. I started to breathe heavily.

“M-my best friend tried to drown herself.” I stuttered. Those words breaking my heart as I was staying strong for Jamie.

“Okay sir, is she breathing?” She asked calmly. I hovered my head against her chest again, hearing her heartbeat more faint then before and her breaths were slowing down.

“H-her breathing and heartbeat is very faint.” I shut my eyes trying not to cry but I had to.

“Sir, tell me your location so I can send an ambulance.” I told her the address that we live at and she said an ambulance is on their way.

“Till the ambulance get’s there, keep her breathing.” The lady instructed. I thanked her and hung up the phone.

I put my hands on her chest and started pumping hmy hands on her heart to try and get her heartbeat to increase.

“C’mon Jamie, please stay with me.” I said as tears started to stream down my face.

I stopped and brought my lips to hers and started breathing into her trying to get her lungs filled with oxygen. I pulled away as I heard the door being open and footsteps coming into the house.

“Hello, Paramedics.” Called out a man.

“In here! Hurry!” I yelled back pumping my hands on her chest again. I heard heavy footsteps coming closer to where Jamie and I were placed.

“Sir, please move out of our way.” The paramedic told me. I nodded and crawled to the far side of the bathroom. Fisting my hair in my hand as I watched the paramedics try to increase Jamie’s breathing and heart rate.

“Okay, lets take her to the ambulance.” One of the paramedics said. I got up from my spot on the floor, tears still streaming my face. I followed them down the stairs while they were still carrying Jamie.

“Son, would you like to accompany your girlfriend in the ambulance?” One paramedic said to me. My heartbeat increased when he called Jamie my girlfriend.

“Yes I would, but she’s not my girlfriend.” I said back to him, whispering the last bit.

“Well, it looks like you love her very much, that’s why I assumed you were dating her.” He said to me as we both climbed in the back of the ambulance. Love, no, yeah I care about Jamie but I don’t think it would be the extent of love.

“No, I-I actually am d-dating one of her friends.” I stuttered, somehow that was hard for me to say.

“Oh.” Oh! thats all he can say?!

Then there was an awkward silence. Luckily in no time we arrived in the emergency part of the hospital. The ambulance stopped and I opened the back compartment of the van and hopped out waiting for the paramedics to take out the bed with Jamie lying on it. I walked in with the paramedics, them calling for help. Then in a matter of no time, doctors and nurses were surrounded around Jamie’s bed as we walked to the room that she will heal in. We walked through 2 big doors when I felt a person tug my arm back, not allowing me to enter through the big doors.
