Charlotte's POV
That Sunday, I woke up ready for the day. I had promised my viewers that today I would upload the song I had been writing for the last four months. I would talk for a little bit about what the meaning meant. I had played Undertale in the last few months(if you haven't seen someone play it or haven't played it yourself, I highly recommend you do.) and it was partly about the game. But it was mostly for Nate; the one who gave me the life I have now. And this is my way of making him promise to protect me. I quickly got dressed and set up the camera. "Hey my little spiders. Charlotte here and welcome to my web! Today, I have the project I promised you last week. It took four months, but it is finally finished." I went and explained what the song meant and why I wrote it. "I would like to dedicate this song to my father NateWantsToBattle. He gave me a life any orphan could dream of. And I can't thank him enough. And with that, I send it over to the song. Enjoy." I turned the camera off, quickly edited the footage and added the song at the end. At noon, I would post it. I got up and walked downstairs. As I walked into the living room, I snuck a quick peek out the curtains. My birth parents weren't there. I knew they would be soon. I quickly shut the curtains again and walked into the kitchen. Nate and Morgan said last night that they were going out today; leaving me in the house all by myself. And they reminded me the rules. Aka no answering the door unless I know the person. So basically anyone from The Scene. I knew they were all busy today. Lyanna and Kile were out on a date, Myka was on vacation over Thanksgiving break, Amber was with family and Hale was on vacation as well. Leaving me behind alone in LA. I turned on the TV and clicked through the channels. Finally, I stopped on Once Upon A Time. Maybe later I would go watch anime on Netflix. I made a quick breakfast and sat down just in time to see some serious butt kicking. I aspired to be like Emma(the main character for those who haven't seen the show). At 11:50, I turned the tv off and walked upstairs. I prepared the video and at exactly 12:00, the song was on the internet forever. I sat back in my chair and sighed. This took me four months of work and it uploaded in less than five minutes. I let it sit and pulled out some last minute homework I had yet to finish. My phone started going off as the comments and likes flooded in. I ignored it only because I promised Nate we would look at it together. My friends texted me about how they all like it. One notification caught my eye. It was from Amber who said she wanted to talk. I picked up my phone and we started talking.
Amber: Can you keep a secret?
Me: I kept my secret about being an orphan for years. Yes I can.
Amber: So you know how we were talking in your room about our fathers.
Me: Yeah, what about it?
Amber: I wanted to say to you and you only that my mom didn't take care of me. She abandoned me on the orphanage doorstep and ran off to live in Europe.
My eyes widened as I read her text. She was adopted like me. One thing stuck in my mind.
Me: What orphanage did you live in?
There was only one orphanage in the entirety of LA. So she could only give me one answer. And when she did get back to me, she gave me the right one. She never texted me back afterwards. I guess the conversation was over. I slipped my homework away and laid down on my bed. There was a knock on the front door soon after. I ignored it. The knocking became more agressive as time went on. I snuck downstairs and looked through the peephole. There was a police officer behind the door. I unlocked and opened the door. "Hello sweetheart. Is your father home?" "No. He and his girlfriend are out. How can I help." "These lovely folks say that they are your birth parents and that your adoptive father is not allowing them to see you. Now, I have a legal document that says they wish to be your legal guardians again. How soon can your adoptive father be here?" I took a step back. They went to court. They got the documents. I'm theirs. "I'll call him right now. He should be here soon." I did what I said and Nate said he would be home in ten minutes. I had no idea what he was doing. Ten minutes later, his car pulled into the driveway. He and Morgan got out and ran to me. "Hello sir. Are you Nathan Sharp?" the officer asked. "Yes I am. What seems to be the problem?" Only then did he notice my parents. "These lovely folks say that you refuse to let them see their daughter." He pulled out the legal documents he had mentioned earlier to me. "These documents say that Charlotte is again theirs." I backed away from the devils and futher into Nate's arms. Nate's face fell as he looked at Morgan. "Charlotte, go pack your things." "But, but..." He shook his head. "Charlotte, go." I ran away from him and up to my room. I locked the door to make sure no one came in. I refused to go with these people. I wanted to stay with Nate and Morgan and The Scene. My entire life is in LA. And now I have to leave it behind.
