Charlotte's POV

I woke up the next morning and stretched out on my bed. Another day at school. Another day of hate. I got out of bed and walked over to my closet. I pulled out my Panic! At The Disco t-shirt, a pair of jeans and a jean jacket with little rhinestones along the sleeves. I slipped on my mint green converse and braided my hair. I decided on no makeup today. Nate was still asleep, so I slipped out and made my way to school. Many people gave me looks and laughed. I went to my locker and quickly grabbed what I needed. I then slowly made my way to homeroom and sat down in our corner. Myka and Hale walked in side by side, laughing. They honestly looked cute together. I ship it. Amber walked close behind. Ten minutes later, Lyanna and Kile walked in. "I almost didn't recognize you. I was about to yell at you to get out of our corner!" Kile said. Lyanna punched his shoulder. Our teacher came in and told everyone to sit down. He then went over some general rules we didn't go over yesterday. One of them was about harrassment. "Without naming names, one of our students was harrassed yesterday because of where they came from." Hale squeezed my shoulder. I grabbed his hand and squeezed back. After the teacher finished, we were free to do whatever. I suggested to the group we come up with a name for the five of us. "How about The Scene? That's what people call us already." Myka suggested. "I like it. It suits us." Lyanna said. The bell rang and we parted ways. Myka and I walked off towards English. Malia was sadly in our class. I hid my eyes with my hair hoping she wouldn't notice me. Myka did the same. We snuck to our seats on the other side of the room. Unfortunatly, one of Malia's lackeys saw us and stuck their foot out. I held Myka back and stepped over it. We both sat down and were greeted by Malia coming and sitting behind us. "Well, the orphan thinks she's fitting in, huh? I think she's trying too hard." She grabbed the end of my braid with her fingers. "Too bad they didn't fix the split ends." I gripped my hands under the desk and took a deep breath. "Go away." I whispered. "Excuse me?" "I said go away." I ripped my hair from her grip. "Who do you think you are?" "Someone who's done with your crap. Now leave!" She got up and stomped away, her knockoff designer heeled boots clicking all the way across the room. Myka said nothing as the teacher came in. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Malia giving me dirty looks. I did my best to ignore them. At lunch, Myka told everyone about what happened in English. "I can't believe you stood up to her like that! No one does." Amber pointed out. "I really wanted to hack off the annoying heels, but then I thought, nah." During physics, Kaylee came up to me. "What did you say to Malia? She's super angry." "What I had to. I hate her and her rude comments. Say anything you want, it won't get to me." Kaylee had a disgusted face as she walked away from my desk. At the end of the day, I ignored all the hate and walked home with a smile on my face. When I got home, Nate for some reason not there. I grabbed a snack from the kitchen and noticed a note.

Charlotte,

I'm going out tonight with a friend. Dinner money is in the jar on the counter if you want to order something.

Nate

I tilted my head to the side and shrugged it off. I walked upstairs to my room and started on my homework. Mostly just math, my best subject. After, I grabbed my new camera and my guitar. I set up the tripod and turned the camera on. "Hi to whoever's watching. I'm Charlotte and this is my section of the Web. I'll mostly be doing music stuff here. It's kinda my passion. So today, I'll be singing and playing The Void by Andy Black."

This ship has crashed, we burned down the past like ghost-drifted ash.

Your photograph is all that will last, there's no turning back.

Now I'm all alone, the future unknown, got nowhere to go.

But I'll survive the loneliest nights, won't give up the fight.

Through the void, through the void, through the endless void, I'll march on and on and on without you! Hear the voice, hear the voice of the hearts destroyed, I'll march on and on and on and on without you!

And I'll keep singing our song till tomorrow.

I finished the song and faced the camera. "Thank you for listening. This song speaks to me in so many ways. I was an orphan at one point and was adopted. I have burned away any memories of my past. And I'll keep singing. Like I have been told. Thanks for joining me here today and I hope to see you soon." I shut the camera off and took a deep breath. I would ask Nate how to do editing. For now, I can relax. I grabbed my unfinished music and continued to work. I thought about going into Nate's recording room and borrowing his piano. I grabbed some more paper and walked in. I smiled at the cludered desk. Shuffling through the papers on his desk, he was writing a new song. I sat down at the piano and got to work. A couple hours later, I was finished. All it needed was words. I shut the door and walked downstairs. I grabbed some leftovers from the other night and heated them up in the microwave. I quickly ran upstairs and grabbed my computer and sat down at the table, music sheets and dinner in hand. I opened up Garage Band and started to put everything together. When I was halfway done, I saved it onto my desktop. When it asked me to name it, I named it Promise Me. It saved and I closed my computer. I looked at the clock and noticed it was almost midnight. I cleaned off my plate, put it in the dishwasher, grabbed my stuff and walked up to my room. I was tired and was craving sleep(just like me as I write this chapter. I hope you guys are happy!!). I slipped into my new silk pajamas and crawled into bed.

Nate's POV

"Thank you Nate for taking me out. I really think we can make this work again." Morgan said. "Me too. Maybe you can be Charlotte's mother." She shook her head and laughed. "Not that far. Not yet. I'll see you soon." I kissed her cheek and we parted ways. All the lights were off in the house as I walked in. I slipped my shoes off and walked upstairs to Charlotte's room. I quietly opened the door and smiled at the sight of her. A strand of her pink hair was covering her eyes. Her body rose and fell with each breath. I kissed her cheek and snuck out of the room again.

Saturday (still Nate's POV)

I woke up to my alarm and quickly got dressed. Morgan and Charlotte were going to meet today after the week of us trying our relationship again. Charlotte was already awake and dressed, her hair sitting around her shoulders as she made breakfast. "Morning!" she said enthusiastically. "Morning Char. We're having a guest over today." "Alright. I can't wait!" I reached over her and grabbed the cereal. There was a knock on the door an hour later. Charlotte came down wearing some light makeup. I answered the door and let Morgan in. "Hey sweetie." she said, giving me a hug. I gave her a light kiss on her cheek. "Charlotte, this is Morgan. My girlfriend." I said proudly. Charlotte looked at us with approving eyes. "You guys look so cute together, I just have to say." Morgan giggled. "I'm glad you approve. Do you guys want tl go out soon?" Both of them nodded. Charlotte ran upstairs to grab something.

Charlotte's POV

I grabbed my purse and quickly brushed out my hair. I heard a light knocking on the door as I did so. "Come in!" Morgan walked in and shut the door. "Hey!" I said, setting the brush down. "May I?" she asked, pointing to the brush. I nodded and she sat me down next to the bed. "I love your hair." she said. I smiled. "I also wanted to say that Nate speaks very highly of you. He loves you very much." "I love him too. He gave me a future I never thought I would have. And I can't thank him enough." "His eyes light up when he talks about you. I think you made his life better as well." She set the brush down and sat down in front of me. "I want to know you like he does. And if you need anything just know, I'll be there." I smiled and gave her a hug. "Thank you. Thank you so much."
